I'm in a tight spot and would like opinions.. I want 19s but know I should go 18s cause I plan on beating the z up and tires are easy to come by. Anyone have pics of advan rg-d on a z? Gotta pull the trigger on something soon

One last question guys. Could I run a set up of 225/45/18 front and 255/45/18 rear or 225/40/18 and 255/40/18 rear.

Hi guys, I'm close to ordering a set of the new Work Meister M1 3p in 18x9.5 +12 and 18x11 +12 and am keen to know what tires you'd recommend? I'm on coils and am thinking of quite low (slight tire tuck) also car is daily driven.

Tire I'm looking at are Nitto NT05 245/40 and 275/40

If you having them made to order, step up to a 10 inch front.

Ok will do. +12 won't be the exact/final offset either but It'll be in that vicinity, I'm still working out the details. Will the tire sizes be alright? I know you'd probably run wider tires but it'd be handy to fit some that won't require a guard roll.

I would probably do a +25 offset front and rear. Run a 255/40 front tire. Then space if needed. This way you can add a 25mm spacer if you get the poke and super stretch bug, pull spacers if you feel like going wide, basically you tire size will not be as limited.

I'll probly get murdered for this but I've tried searching all week and can't find definite answers... I'm ordering a set of rota grids in either 18x9.5 +20 or 18x10 +15 this week. My questions are can I run the 10's on a car that will be lowered without spacers or fender rolling? Also can I run a squared tire setup (ie 255/35/18 on all corners) and not look ridiculous. I ask that because while searching I've been seeing almost everyone using different sized tires in the rear on squared wheels. Feel free to flame but please help me afterwards. Thx

255/35-18 is a great size tire for a civic, but is really short for a Z. It is almost 2 inches shorter than a stock rear. I would run a 255/40 front and 275/40 rear with your wheels. Roll, it will be close but may not be needed in the rear.

So just to make sure I understand you, you're saying 18x10s with a 35 sidewall would look to small and I need to run a wider tire in the rear with possible rolling required? I'm cool with needing to roll it a little bit as long as everything else clears and I can still drop it a little when I get coilovers. I guess I'll call wheeldude and see if they can sell me some staggered tires with the wheel package. I'd much rather have the tires mounted and balanced when they get here than going thru the hassle of loading wheels and tires into my wife's car and having her follow me to the tire shop lol. Thanks for your input!

I've always thought 275/40 could look a little "bubbly". Some of the sidewalls look huge, but some look OK... guess it depends on the tire used.

Would getting 20 mm spacers be over kill in the back?

18x9.5 +12 all around 235 40

As terrasmak states, a 35 series tire is too short for your Z. The problem is more than appearance; the tire has too small a diameter for it to work correctly with your car’s electronics (TCS, ABS, etc.).

Go with a 40 series tire that is at least 245 on the front and 275 on the rear.

18x10 +15 wheel might rub the rear fender; rolling the rear fender will fix that. You won’t rub if you go with +22 offset on the 18x10 wheel, but it won’t be flush (if that is a concern for you).

When you say “bubbly,” do you mean the tire has a bulging appearance or that it is simply too tall?

A 275/40 tire on a 10x18” wheel won’t appear bulged; in fact this setup approaches stretched (where the tire’s sidewall is more straight up-and-down). Of course a 40 series tire on an 18” wheel has a taller sidewall than a 35 series tire on a 19” wheel. NOTE: Both these setups have the same tire diameter.

I think I'm gonna order the 18x10's tomorrow and see about getting either a 245/275 width combo or 255/285 combo. I'll be checking back in here and I'll keep you guys posted. Thx.

275/40/18 on a 10'' wide - it looks like a balloon around the rim... to me.

The Nittos I'm looking at show a full inch difference between the 275/40/18 and the 275/35/18.

I'd rather go with a 285/35/18 to get a meaty look rather than a 40 series and get the truck tire look.

Will never go back to 275/40.
