What do you guys think of Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport tires? I plan on getting 18x9.5+12 front and 18x10.5+22 rear with 265/35 and 295/35. Would you mix tire brands front and rear cause I can only find 4 tires brands that offer both the sizes I'm looking for. Or am I crazy and fail at searching on the googles.

IMO, 295/35 is too tall compared to 265/35 (10.5mm difference). I would go with 265/35 and 285/35, there should be more options so you don't have to mix brands.

Putting 285 on the back on a 10.5 rim wont give me that stretched look will it because I think that is the worst thing you can do. To keep a 295 on the back could I bump the front up to a 275 on a 9.5 rim without having to run horrid camber I am trying to do this without having to have absurd camber.

285 has a hair or stretch, if you could even call it that. It is a very optimal size for the wheel.

Default Tire sizing

Wheel setup:

18x9.75 +20mm square

Stock height (maybe 1" drop or so in the future)

I'm thinking 255/35-18 front and 275/35-18 rear.

Should I stick with 35 series sidewall height? I don't have a burning desire to drop the car any time soon and want the majority of the fenderwell to be full. Any input appreciated.

255/35-18 never belongs on a Z . The proper for that with is 255/40 and 275/40. If you want 35's you need to go wider.

Got it. That's what I originally was thinking but I saw quite a few guys running 35 series sidewalls with similar widths and started to wonder.

Only mods on the car at this time are SPL solid control arm bushings in the front
and VLSD rear with SPL Solid rear diff bushings.

Front: 18x8 +20 offset, 245/40/18
Rear: 18x9 +20 offset, 265/40/18

or

Front: 18x9 +20 offset, 245/40/18
Rear: 18x9 +20 offset, 265/40/18

Pro's and Con's for running staggered vs neutral ????
Here is what I decided on

Front: 18x9 +20 offset, 245/40/18
Rear: 18x9 +20 offset 5mm spacer, 265/40/18

Opinions anyone?
should I go 275/40/18 in the rear?

Yes and get 9.5/10.5 +22 in a different wheel.

If it was me with budget constraints, I would get a 10mm rear spacer and run a 265/40 on it , maybe even a 245/45 rear. Running a 275/40 rear will work, probably pretty good for drag, but the handling sucks. Really I wouldn't run a 275/40 on anything less than a 10 inch wife wheel.

Thanks for the response. Thats the kind of information I was looking for. Will it handle like ****? Yes. Then I wont do a 275 on a 9" wheel. Makes sense.

Once I get the tires I will see if I want to go 10mm on the spacer. I will start will the 5mm spacer since I don't have to change the lugs. For me, it's not so much the budget constraints. It just took me for ever to pick wheels. I like what I found.

Default Help with my offset/tire conundrum

I feel like I'm in a conundrum. I just bought an 06 touring with the most hideous wheels. I'm buying new 18" wheels and I want to conservatively push them out to the fenders. I want to be conservative, but still somewhat agressive. I've been looking at the Work CR KAi's or the knockoff Rota Torques in the 9.5 +20, but don't know if I want the 9.5 in the front. I think I really want the 8.5 in the front because I think it will fit the 245/40 tire better.

I am at stock height and will probably never drop the car.
Help me decide the right course of action here.

Options 1:

9.5 +20 all around with either:
245/40/18 f 275/40/18 r
or
255/40/18 f 275/40/18 r

If I do this option I'm worried the 245 will look stretched on the 9.5 wheel and I want a beefy tire. I'm also worried that 255 might rub or be too close to messing with the VDC. I did the calculations and think it should work but I'm not sure. The 245/275 combo seems to be much safer with the VDC and will not be stretched.

So if I go this option, which tire should I run?

2) (this would be my preference)
Go 8.5 +?? front and 9.5 +20 rear. (I don't know what the front offset should be): Then I would definitely go a 245/40/18 on the front.

Problem here is I don't know the proper front offset. From what I figure, if I want it to sit flush like the 9.5 +20's in the rear, there is a 12.7mm difference in width so I shoud get a 8.5 +12 or so. But nobody makes a +12 in a 8.5 that I can find in the wheels I want.

Did I calculate that completely wrong? If I want a 8.5/9.5 combo what 8.5 offset would look best with the 9.5+20?

What would you guys do?

255/40 coupled with a 275/40 is closer to stock as far as VDC is concerned. It is also not going to rub at 9.5 +20. The rear in 9.5 is fine, no roll required , but I would roll it and add a 10mm just for looks. If they offer a 10 inch wheel in that size, I would get that for the rear.

The 245/40/18 will be stretched on a 9.5 width wheel. They fit perfectly on a 8.5. Even the 255/40 is slightly stretched on a 9.5. You won't rub on the front either way you go.

I agree, most people won't notice the 255, but the 245 is obvious on a 9.5 inch wheel.
