My luck OFFICIALLY Blows!!!! Need advice and Opinions....
Well I have a set of Volk GTV's in Gun Metal. 19X8.5 19X9.5 wrapped in Nitto 555's. I had the clearcoat taken off by a GREAT hand wash over here in NY. So here is my situation..I heard they cannot be fixed or I have to dip them. I will sell them with the tires which are 4 months old but the car has been away since Dec. 1
Can they be fixed?
If not what is the hot rim out there now? I want to see pics...
Can I do a 9.5 front 10.5 rear set up without rubbing problems and no fender rolling????
Any help, photos or advice is appreciated!!!

I think they can be repolished as well, but I don't think it will be the exact process Volk uses in Japan. It seems like I've read that on here before. Why not just have them all polished down and powdercoat the centers the color of your choice (or leave them if there is no problem with the centers)? I bet they'd still look great, and would be much cheaper than starting over with a new set.
As far as the 19x9.5 F and 19.10.5 R, that will be no problem. I have GT-V's of that size on my Z, and have no rubbing and didn't have to roll the fenders. That's with 245/275 tires. Mine is also dropped slightly on Hotchkis springs.

By the way, how do you know the clearcoat has been removed? Are they spotted or what? A hand wash shouldn't do that. What did they wash it with? Also, if the carwash did the damage, shouldn't they have to pay to fix?

They sprayed a de greaser on the rim and the clear just sort of melted off down into the lips on all four rims...So I proceed to flip out on everyone near me!! Long story short they tried to fix them but now the stain is out but it looks like someone ran a brillo pad around the rim....
So I sue him in small claims win but now the task is to actually collect on it...Just because you win in court does not guarantee you will get paid..
I was told from the place that I bought them that they were unrepairable...this is why I ask you guys...What type of place should I try? And since the clear is gone they will never be protected right??
