Default Tire pressure indicator...a little clarifying please?

What does it mean when it looks like this (in dash computer):

F:31
32

Does that mean right tire is 31 and left tire is 32 ?

And if press the bottom button, it looks like:

R:31
32

I read the instruction manual...but not a lot of help in there.

F(Front): (left tire pressure) (right tire pressue)
R(Rear): (left tire pressure) (right tire pressue)

Your right front tire is: 32
Your left front tire is: 31

are you sure it's not the other way around?

F: 31 (right)
32 (left)

I say this because I actually got a tire pressure gauge and checked it...the right shows it's lower than the left...not doubting you, but can someone else chime in?

Mine definitely has right on the top and left on the bottom. I found out when I got a nail in my left rear tire.

Cool

The upper number appears to be the tire on the LEFT (drivers side) and the lower number is the tire on the RIGHT (passenger side)

When I first got my car, the numbers were all over the place:

LF 25
RF 32

LR 35
RR 40

I bought a new tire gauge and checked. Sure enough, the TPMS was accurate! I immediately adjusted all four tires to be 35 psi.

Wow...so far the score is 2 - 2

I think I'm going to agree with the guy who had his tire popped by a nail...

Cool

By the way, we may get differing results.

It may be that the ORDER in which the sensors are calibrated affect whether the upper number is right etc.

There is a TSB about this.

Anyway, that is the result I got when I checked with a gauge: bottom number is passenger side on MY car.

It seemed as though in the '03 and '04 cars, some were one way (left on top) and some the other way (right on top). I'm not sure if they are consistant on the '05 and '06 cars. The only true way to know for sure it to put 35 in the right side tires and 30 in the left side tires and drive it around the block.

The way they are supposed to be working is that the little arrow next to the bottom number point to the left indicating that the bottom number is for the left wheel.

My car's right on top and left at the bottom. I know this because one time i was filling air and i forgot to bring a tire gauge so i just left my engine on and used the TPS monitor to check, I filled the right tire first and sure enough the top reading started increasing. It sucks how they update every 30seconds rather than real time.

Right, that's what the indicator is there for, but there's nothing saying thats how it really is. If the tires have been changed/remounted/rotated/etc they could be switched. Only way to know for sure is to follow the manual's suggestion and put a different amount in each tire so you know for sure which is which. Personally I don't care which is which. If one reads low I check and fill them all...the only time it would matter is if one tire picks up a nail and that was easy for me to tell which one it was when it happened.
