Disconnecting the antenna won't help, as the car still won't recieve a valid signal.

^^^ Correct. It's the lack of signal that sets off the alarm. There is no way to disable TPMS.

Correct, there is no way to disable it. You can put tape over it like some people have. The prob is that depending on the year of your car, you will get a loud beeping sound if you have them out of the wheels. The TPS can be retrofitted onto ANY wheels out there, so reusing them is really not an issue.

I've got a few ideas on how to disable the system, they will just take time to test. If all else fails it may be possible to make a small pressure box, put all four sensors in it, pressurize it to ~35psi and stick it under your dash. Since the sensors work off of radio frequencey it doesn't matter where they are physically located, as long as they are within distance of the BCM.

^^Seems like more work to do that than just to put the TPS on the new wheels.

The problem with that is that (from I have heard) they won't fit on all wheels for whatever reason. Also, there is a high rate of sensor damage when transporting them. Furthermore, they are battery powered, meaning they have a short life expectency, and they are 'throw aways'. It's nice to have the sensors, but when mine die I won't bother paying the dealership to replace them. It would be nice to have a solution before that time.

The banding method of mounting seems to work on most wheels where the sensors won't fit in the normal method of mounting.

The life expectancy of the battery is supposed to be 7 years. You definitely don't want to buy replacements at the dealer though, the charge over $200 per sensor. Buy some used ones off the forum and pay less than $200 for a set of four.

I believe one of the reasons that there is no way to disable the warning is that the law that mandates their use now makes it illegal to disable to defeat the warning. Manufacturer are probably required to make them so they can't easily be disabled.

I don't see what the big deal with the warning is. I put my stock wheels back on my Z for autocrosses and the alarm goes off driving to and from the site. Surely people can ignore the (!) symbol.
