Rod, I'd use Klasse AIO. It contains a good cleaner/polisher, which is alot more nescesary on a metal wheel which is never quite clean enough to put a pure "sealant" on such as Zaino. Klasse AIO also works great on the paint.

Well first off, wheels are quite dirty to begin with...but besides that, non-painted wheels are much harder to get perfectly clean...if you cleaned the lips, and polished them until you got very little black residue, then yes, you could use a pure sealant, but i think its much easier, and more effective yo use a cleaner/sealant such as Klasse AIO.

It protects pretty well...not as long as say a few coats of BF or Zaino, but Id say about 4 months....but that doesnt really matter cause your gonna have to use it more often on your wheels anyway. It contains a cleaner-polish so it cant be layered...it does have a twin brother, Klasse "Sealant Glaze", which doesnt contain a polish, thereby can be layered, but I dont recoment it as its very tempermental to use. You can buy it at properautocare.com amung other places.

Do you have a sealant allready? If so which one.

BTW, I cleared my PM box.

I don't have a "sealent" already for my wheels (that I know of, unless a normal car polish works). I get Autoglym products at wholesale though, so I will see what they offer (they aren't big here in the US, except Champion Porsche, the biggest Porsche dealer in the world uses the stuff on thier cars, and Austin Martin, Rolls, and Bentley ALL endorse the stuff and ONLY use it on thier cars).

I will have to see what they offer as well as others, thanx for hte help

here is the product, I just looked on their site, it does say it can be used as a "cleaner, polisher, and sealer" for metal products (such as wheels) and chrome trim in "good" condition.

http://www.properautocare.com/autsuprespol.html

I have this stiff laying all over the garage, and use it on ALL my cars, so should I give it a try, I just don't want to ruin the metal finish, BUT I do have some great Metal polisher, so if it does anything, I could just polish it out again.

thoughts (sorry for being so paranoid)

Hi Rod,
The one you are looking at does not mention bare metal surfaces....So I am not sure if it is right for the lip. Probably o.k. for the center though.
I was looking at this stuff.
It looks like it is a Protectant and Sealer that will not hurt any type of metal surface.

ya, it doesn't talk about it there, but go to there home page here, and it does..

http://www.autoglym.co.uk/frame2.html

a few things it mentions are "...for good condition brightwrok and other metallic surfaces, i.e., wheels, instead of metal polishes that may be a unneccessary abrasive"

also when you go to Autoglyms metal polish product and go to "handy tips" it says....

"..to help preserve shine (after using autoglym metal polish), finish with autoglym super resin polish"

The lips are indeed bare...Vince said they used to clear-coat them but stopped for quality issues they were having.

Rod, you can use the AutoGlym polish/sealant...its very similar to Klasse All-In-One. Basicaly, I recomend using a sealant with a mild cleaner-polish in it.
