Default TE37 Time Attack vs Rota "Drag wheels" "pics"

I finally received my other rota wheel for my drag set up.
Weighing in at 49.8 LBS is the Rota 18x9.5 with 275/35 BF Drag Radials
in this corner weighing in at 48.8LBS is the TE37 19x10.5 Time Attack wheels with 275/35 toyo T1R's. Things i noticed. The Rotas don't like the the Volk lug nuts I had to use the heavy @$$ cheapy's. The Rota's also cleared my 14" Stop tech with about 1/2 an inch to spare.

Rota

Volks

Gotta love the Rotas,,, after many bent 15" te37s on my previous turbo honda's I owned, I switched to Rotas to save money bc the streets here are riddled with potholes!! Its really a great wheel. Although the time attacks are sick!!!! I wouldnt waste the money on crazy expensive wheels for my daily driven NJ Z.

Yep those rota wheels are heavy as hell, but for a drag wheel that will fit my BBK, and for the price, it's not bad.

Is it the Rotas that are heavier or the drag radials? I think those drag radials are heavier than most tires man...

+1 It would have been cool to see the difference without the tires.

I was also surprised that they were within 1 lb of each other. Thought that the Rota units would be a bit heavier that that.

With the number of Honda's I see with Rota's, I wish I had stock there.

Don't forget that you are comparing 18" vs. 19".

The red stripe looks tacky to me. To each their own.

Wheels alone
Volk 19lbs for 19" rim
Rota 23lbs for 18" rim

I weighed them before mounting tires... So yeah the rota's are heavy *** pigs.

well. any rotational mass that you can lighten up helps. but since they're close to the center of rotation, they dont matter as much as weight near the outter lip/edge of the wheel...
