my back 2 potenzas 245/45 R18 are BALD!!!

i been getting through the roof prices for the same potenzas like $260 per tire...i dont want to spend over $180 per tire...so this place gave me $140 for Falkens...i had them on my last car and liked them...any other opinions in what to replace the potenza?? thanks

i had the same exact issue. since i dont feel like getting crazy in my car since its still new, i went with some better treadwear rubber. yokohama avs es100s. i got em for like 130, but then again my pops knows the district manager of yokohama here...

sumitomo has those htrzII or something... they are like 110 a tire. i always wondered if they were any good.

the re040s were a great choice by nissan, perfect on the car IMO. but they are DAMN expensive for their wear.

i got 8k miles outta my re040s, i put 8k on my avs es100s and i still got about 60-70% tread left!

they also feel comfy at high speeds, better in the wet weather than the re040s.

Thanks for the link. I will certainly give these tires a shot when my current Michlins Pilot sports wear out. I'm happy with the Michlins except that the rear tires are shot after 17k miles. The fronts still have a lot of tread left so I really had no choice but to order a new set of rear tires...to the tune of just over $600!! (with mounting/balancing)

remember that you can have all the mods in the world, but if you have sub-par tires, then your car wont be able to lay it down.

what it sounds like ur trying to do, is get performance tires at non performance prices. sorry but it just wont happen the way you want it unless you know some people or get lucky.

the z is a performance car. if it was cheap, every little hot shot asian kid would be driving one. you have to put performance tires on just like the car takes premium gas. its a Z, not a vtec.

What's the best street tire, as far as performance goes? I'd say it's the Falken Azenis 615. It should wear out in about 12k miles though. The Hankook tire that competes with the Azenis is better for daily driving, IMO. It possesses a good amount, but not quite as much dry and likely slightly more wet grip than the Azenis 615. It's a little cheaper, and it will last longer in daily driving conditions. Either tire is not that expensive for what you are getting. Both tires are great for autocross tire classes as well.
