How do you attack hills?
#5
Maybe it's just me, but it's pain in the *** to anticipate the green light when your uphill. Usually i half-clutch like 20 seconds before it turns green. I can hear the engine shaking, is that really really bad for the car? --coming from a 2 month Z driver

Seriously, don't do that !
With practice, you can "catch" the car smoothly the way the guys explained.
Using the e-brake is the easier way. Just don't let go of the little button to lock it! It can sometime jam... hehe.
If the slope is very steep, I usually go for the e-brake myself.

Have your clutch pedal adjusted to be just about a C hair taller than your brake padal. This will resolve your issue. When taking off, simply lift the clutch pedal about 1/2 an inch off the floor and it will start to grab, no more high stepping like a **** to get on the clutch and no more lifting 1/2 way off the floor before it starts to grab. It can be done in literally 3 mins and if they charge you it should only be like $10-$20 bucks under the table direct to the mechanic. Or do it yourself if you are small enough to get under the dash and work your hands around the tiny space alotted.
