Default Kumho question

I was wondering what kind of tires most of you get? I like going racing at the track but i want a tire that can handle everyday use. I was thinking kumho because ive never heard anything bad about them but alot of people say yokohamas are just as good. and basically i just need good pointers on what tires good for that.

thanks for any help

From personal experience, I have found Yokohamas to be of better quality. I had both Kumho and Yokohamas... the yokos seemed to have given me better traction and handling.

Kuhmo's are not bad... but when you need a bit more tack and bite on the asphalt... my yokos have never let me down...

however, if you can afford Toyo's... go with the proxes...

Ask the question in the appropriate forum ( https://my350z.com/forum/wheels-and-tires-60/ ) and you'll probably get good answers.

This is the marketplace section for selling or buying only.

Are you talking about the stock size?

For what it's worth ... there's a guy at the track who has tried all kinds of tires. He told me the Kuhmo MX's are one of the "best bang for the buck" tires. Good traction, good looks, good price. The MX's are max-performance street tires, not r-compound.

I got Mxs and they are soft side wall compare to stock re040s but I'm assuming Toyos have softer side wall since soo many people said it before.
And yeah, they do hook up nice when its heated up.

Before buying tires check these test results: https://my350z.com/forum/wheels-and-tires/271133-what-brand-tires-should-i-get.html.

I use the Kumho MX's and love them. (I use them for DD and autocross)

Soft sidewall, but otherwise; good traction -great when hot, and smooooth break-away at the limit.
