Default Nitto Neogens/555/anything else?

well i'll be buying tires for my new wheels this week (prob from discount tire co) and they recommended me the Nitto Neogen tires. I searched and couldnt find anything about them. Any one have these? Also was lookin at the 555's.
I'm looking for something that is around that price with good performance and long life, any other suggestions or does anyone have input on the Nittos? are the Neogens good or should i spend a bit more for the 555's?

also, does anyone know any place i can get these cheappp? i'll prob be buying from discount tire, but they said they match prices so yea.

and if you dont recommend the nitto's, what else should i look into around the same price range. He told me 180 each for the front and 226 each for rears.

245/35/19 F
275/35/19 R

All input is appreciated and sorry if its been covered, just couldnt find it, if it has please direct me! Thanks!!

EDIT: i remember on some other thread, some one has linked to a website that stealerships and these tire companies get their tires from. I looked again and cant find where that link is. If ya'll know it, please post that as well! Thanks

I currently have NeoGen's on my car and they are doing just fine. Is your car lowered? I know the Neo Gen's were developed with the sport's/street enthusiast in mind as it allows even tread wear/life for a lowered car. The only time I have really lost grip/control in the rain was on a highway when I gunned the car right after a toll booth...I am sure most tires would have lost grip as well the way I tried to move it lol

I'm currently running NT555 extremes on my G coupe, (the same size you specified above) and they have amazing grip, tire wear's not too bad, and road noise is descent for 19's, although I'd heard good things about neogens, I think 555's are totally worth the money.

thanks for the link, but i dont see nitto neogens on the list....does that mean they're that bad? lol the guy at discount tire told me these were like good well balanced tires compared to more expensive tires with similar performance.

so no one has heard anything bad about these?

and no references to where i can get these cheaper!! thanks

yea thats what i've been doing, reading generally good things, but wanted to see z owner's experiences with em.

they are charging me 180 each for fronts and 226 each for rears. so far i've found em for like 163 but shipping is more too, the guy said "we match prices" and i asked even online stores and he said "as long as you include shipping thats fine cause we dont charge".

other than that from their online store (discount tire DIRECT) they have the prices listed for $15 cheaper each.

thanks for your help, keep it coming!

Avoid Nitto 555s at all cost. I can't stress enough how crappy of tires those are. Mediocore dry traction and absolutely horrible wet traction.
Only thing good about it is long tread life.
You don't want to go cheap on tires..even if you have to pay more get GOOD tires. Trust me, I know from experience.

555s are ultra-performance summer tires indeed, but one of the worst of the bunch.
Seriously, almost anything is better than 555s. What's your budget?
I can immediately recommend you BFGoodrich G Force KDW 2 for one. Dunlop SP Sport Max is alright as well.

i drive my car constantly in rain and dry weather. These 555's are much better than stock tires but not as good as the bfgoodrich kdw2. I have no problem in wet weather. It's quieter than the stock potenzas. I had to take those tires off and put them in the shed. They suck.

the 555 are not for wet roads, get the 450 or neo-gen (if your toe is off)

I have pushed my 450s hard, even on water, just to find it's "no return" point, but I have not found that point without first hitting the end of my comfort zone.
I should point out it's a 240 with coilovers and brembos. The Z still has meat on it's stockers, but I will be getting Nitto for it when they wear down more.

+1. if you're getting nitto, go with nitto invo, i just got them and love them. Grip is awesome both on wet and dry. Quiet ride and unique look are amazing. and i'm sure you'll like the price as well. i got them from discount tire direct and cheaper than what they had them for.

Take a look at the Kuhmo SPT, they are a great tire for the price. They show up 9th on that consumer reports page, far above the 555. I had these for a while, good wear, low noise, great in the rain and predictable in the dry and better wear than the stock tires. I have Sport Pilots now but will probably go back to these or get some BFG KDW2. Why go back, the SPs only seem slightly better and cost nearly a 3rd more. They just dont have the same value.

Do not EVER waste your money on Nitto 555's. Soft sidewalls and the worst grip in rain, ever.

I just got a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's last week and they are amazing!! You can get them on Tirerack for around $220ish too. Ever since i went FI i could hardly get on it untill half way trough second gear, which was no fun. Now i can practically pop the clutch and they will turn maybe half a rotation, then grab like nobody's business!!! But furthurmore i'm more so impressed with the wet traction!!! I drove her for the first time in the pouring rain yesterday with the new rubber. And was completely amazed!!! I was able to drive "spirited" all day and it might as well as been bone dry outside!! The don't look like they would be good for wet traction. But i guess there's a reason tirerack gave them a 9.1 in wet traction!!

I'm no tire expert. Thsi is actually my first set of "expensive" tires. But i did a lot of research and i'm glad i picked these. Plus they look bada$$!!

P.S. My car came with 555's on the front, and have no problems with them.

Good luck on your search!

^ Goodyear F1 D3 GS are GREAT tires. I just didn't mention it to the OP since they are a bit more expensive than his budget.
