I must have missed this....

They were 275/35 star specs. Drop is ~1.3"f and ~.8"r.

They look wider than a 275 rear.... 255/35 up front? How is the ride on 35 profile? I assume you didn't require a rolled rear due to the 275?

Thanks Man..

I am trying to do this without rolling the fenders and no rub.

Let me know what you guys think of this setup and pref of the tires.

Thanks!
Dennis - which Potenza is that you're looking at? The S04 Pole Position? I see them offered, but don't know anything about them but that they are expensive! I used to like the S02 and S03s though. . . Also, the AD only comes in a 285/30/18, which would be ok with VDC off minus the fact that you'll have decent wheel well gap. I'd pass on those though.

For street tires, I'd go Dunlop Star Specs or RS-3 (only the RS-3 comes in 285/35/18). Or if you are willing to go down to a 100TWR, consider the NT01 and the R888s.

The Star Spec 275 has an 11" section width when measured on a 9.5" tire. That's a pretty big 275 (about 1/4", or 6mm, more than others in the same 275 size).

Wow that's impressive. Is there increased sway(sideways wiggle) from this at all?<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

I think they were 265 on the front. I don't remember....Scoot has them now...or did...he can verify. Fenders weren't touched. Still aren't touched even on 285 A6's.

I think I have your old 275s, however, I do have front 265s. They are currently on an 8.5" net +15 wheel. They are biggins for a 265 as well.

Hi Scott,
I really like the R888 and they fit the best based on 255x35 n 275x35 setup. For a low intermediate driver, under what condition would these tires get me in trouble on the track? Going into corners too hot??

I doubt they will get you into trouble. Going too hot into a corner won't typically get you into trouble, but will surely slow you down as you have to apply the brakes once you realize you're going too fast. It's coming out of the apex to the exit too fast that can get you into trouble as you run out of room at the exit! The R888s should communicate well with you, so you'll know when they are on the edge. I'd be happy to take a ride with you if we can tag up for an event together. I think you are going to the T-hill event on 4/1? I can't make that one since I'll be headed to B-willow 4/2-3, but certainly will another time.

How much are new from-the-store ones, $1200ish? I don't mind, as I will find a use for the new 255/275s I have for sale, but I think you'll get ones with very similar production dates as mine (and I know you'll spend more on them!) I still would have tried the 265/285 combo just for giggles to see if it would work, which also would have been super cheap. Tires are expensive - I would spend a little money after you get the new wheels and tires installed to get your alignment checked (assuming that you're done with any suspension mods for the time being). A little extra toe can destroy those high-$ tires in no time.

^ I just saw discount tire has NT05's pretty damn cheap for the treadwear rating. I'm considering those as well.

Scott,

Lol... My brother in law has a black 07 mustang and he dropped it and blacked out the wheels and it looks sick... I'll post some pics later..

I wanted Gunmetal rpf's I thought the offset to the black would be awesome, but they were all sold out. Went silver...

My z is black and i was thinking it would be too much monochromatic, but after seeing his car, It looks mean....

Heh - it's all good. It's nearly the exact same reason that I got black wheels for my black 300ZX. I saw a completely blacked out C6Z06, similar to the pic I found below (but not the same one), and said to myself, "that car kicks azz and means serious business."

One of the vendors has them back in stock. Looking to purchase these rims during the summer.

Congrats on the purchase. Post some pics when you get them installed. What size and offset's did you purchase? Tire widths? Thanks in advance.
