Unofficial Enkei Wheels Thread
#1382
Alright getting new wheels soon. Wanna get that more agressive look in the rear and better handling. I dont want to roll my finders, but I will if i have to. I am also going to running stock suspension. What would be the best wheel and tire sizes for what Im looking for. I was thinking 8.5 in the front with 245/40r18 or 255/40r18. In the rear maybe 9.5 and 265/40r18 or 275/40r18. I am not good with offset I was hoping you guys could help me with that. Or maybe im all wrong and I need 9.5 in the front and 10.5 in the rear...IDK

Just got a set of black RPF1s for the track. I was not willing to pay $25 a peice for Enkei hub caps (its just insane that Enkei doesn't include caps with $350 wheels).
Looks aren't a huge issue for me, and these will be used primarily at the track....but at the same time I'm not fond of how they look without caps and nothing wrong with looking good at the track.
Does anyone know a source for cheaper caps. I don't care what brand. Just a flat black disk would be fine with me.
Thanks.

Just like most of you...
RPF1's 9.5 front 10.5 rear +15 all around
265/35 front and 285/35 rear
or maybe its 265/40 up front I forget haha.

If I get 10.5 in the rear will I need to roll my fenders? Also how stretched will 245/40r18 and 275/40r18 tires be on the 9.5 and 10.5 wheels? I dont want really stretched out looking tires, not my style.

Are you lowered at all? Adjustable suspension components? I'd go 255 or 265/35 front and 285/35 rear on the 9.5/10.5. If you aren't lowered, and don't plan on it, you can go with the 40 series, but I'd bump the front to 255/40.

Lol eveything is stock, but in the future definalty want to lower my car just a hair. I dont want massive tires, just something to make my car look and handle better. I wont be tracking my car so I dont need extremely wide tires.

If you will lower later - even with something mild like Eibach springs - I'd go with the 35 series. I didn't suggest those sizes for tracking, but so that you avoided said stretch look like you asked. I think a 9.5" wheel is ideal with a 275, but it can go +/- 1/2", IMO, and still look ok. I like a 295 on a 10.5, and 285 minimum, hence my suggestion.

275/35/18 is 25.6" tall
275/40/18 is 26.7" tall
You need a real wide tire, like 315/35, to get to the same 26.7" tall

255/40 and 275/40 is a great combo for those wheels for street use. I you look around at my pics you can see how it looks mounted on my NT03's spaced out to the RPF1 offset. Even when lowered, as my car is. No need for shorter tires if you properly lower the car 255/35-18 should never be mounted on a Z unless you have to for race use.

ok need your help before i pull the trigger
i have rpf1 f9.5 r10.5 +15 all around...i like the nice fat tire look
i already have 265/35 for the front but for the rear i see alot of you
guys going with 285/35...could i do 295/35 instead? its only a little
difference and i know i will get a little under steer with 285 and 295
...that's question number one...my car is dropped a little less then
1.5inches...so would i have to get my rear fenders rolled? (im guessing
yes)
can you guys tell me the pros and cons of running nice fat tires?
besides the fact that they are expensive lol got my eye on

Some people run an 18/19 combo so the tire sidewall will be the same height front to rear. This can also be done with a 17 front 18 rear combo, 19 front and 20 rear combo.

What about 8.5 in the front and 9.5 in the rear for rims sizes? Or 9 in the front and 10 in the rear? Why does everyone run 9.5 and 10.5? Im sticking with 18' all around too.
