are you asking if you can put a lip on a wheel that doesnt have a lip??? doesnt seem like that would be feasible. just get a rim that already has a big lip if thats what you want. if thats not what youre asking, ignore my response

no you cannot add a lip to a rim, you cant add anything that I know of. perhaps if it was a 2 or 3 peice rim they could take the rim off the spokes and offset it or extend it in the middle, who knows, but the nismo wheel is a 1 peice rim, they cant just add to it.
not possible.

Wheels can be widened. The link I listed is to a shop that does just that. How they do it is another story. The last set that I saw that were widened was done by cutting the wheel bead off of the rim and welding in a piece of flat stock aluminum between the bead and the rim and then re-machining the wheel and balancing it. This should get you a wider lip.

yeah only for looks, lips are really just a side effect of style, for example mine dont have a lip, but the same rim with a 12 offset does have a lip, just cause the spokes are the same but the outer rim is moved out, creating the lip.
if you cut off the bead and welded in a band, while yeah thats possible, youd be wasting your money on a set of forged rims, as theyd have more weight. and I would think strength would be drasticly reduced.
