Default How do I remove the TPS from my wheels

I am trying to remove the TPS from my stock wheels. How do I do this without breaking them. I tried doing a search but came up with nothing.

Local tire can do this for you, just let em know that they are in there & to be careful when removing. Why are you removing them, are you not a safety fan???

I'm going to be selling them. I have aftermarket wheels on the car without the sensors, and the tps light dosen't bother me. I had a shop remove the tires but they did not want to remove the sensors for fear of damaging them.

Actually, removing the tires is when most shops damage the sensors. The sensors are mount through the valve stem. The shop is supposed to remove the nut on the stem and let the sensor fall into the tire, that way when they are dismounting the tire, it doesn't catch the sensor and break it away from the valve stem.

I work at a tire shop...if you are carefull you dont have to take the tpms off the rim to change a tire...you need a deep socket 12-14mm ( i cant remember) and a ratchet, you loosen the sleeve and it comes off(sleeve comes off the top, sensor falls through the inside of the rim.

I think it’s odd that a qualified tire shop would be fearful of removing TPMS sensors. It’s probably that they have no experience doing this, or they do not have the equipment to re-install and calibrate the sensors that spooks them away from this easy task.
