Default 06 rear wheels on front

Surely this has been covered before, sorry if it has but I didn't find what I was looking for...

Will the 06 rear wheels and tires work on the front without any problem? I was thinking of purchasing a pair of rear wheels with 245/45/18 to put on the front so I could fully rotate a set of non directional tires.

Thanks.

Will screw up your VDC/TCS and make your speedo read incorrectly... not to mention will look silly

That will work. VDC only cares about the overall diameter. It has no idea how wide the wheels are (or does it...........?? )

That's the ideal setup. Square setup . . . same size rims & tires on all four corners. Nothing to worry about -- it will not affect VDC.

Thanks everyone for the replies.

I hadn't considered it would be enough to cause VDC/TCS issues. As far as looks would it really even be noticeable if the rears matched? A friend did a similar set up on his M5 and I didn't notice it looking unusual.
