These tires are very wide overall for their treadwidth. You can't use really aggressive offsets with these tires.

JET, please clarify something for me. Are you running a 295/30/19 on an 18x10 +25 in the rear? Doesnt that mean its a 19" tire on an 18" rim?

Damn.... I meant 19X10 +25 rear. I have 18" fronts and 19" rears.

** Ordered 255/35/18 for the front and 305/35/18 for the rear.
** 305's on backorder for a week so I have some time to change.
** Feel free to correct me.
** I understand that I'll have to roll/cut the fenders.

Wow... that a huge stagger 255/305. And the rear wheel is 1.38 inches larger than the front diameter.

275/305 is what you want.

**Jet so this is the point where you tell me that I won't have an issue stuffing the 275 in the front....

** I was thinking I was being aggressive in the front; for example the Porche 911 Turbo runs 235/18 fronts and 305/18 rears.

** Is there other reasoning behind reducing the stagger besides preserving the VDC?

you can stuff the 265/35 on the +15 if you're cambered out to like -2.xx. should clear the front fender edge and the inner suspension arm.. remember the 265 R888 is like a 275 normal tire.

as for rears. well. with a +15 rear and 305s.. they're gonna stick out past the fender. so even if u get camber arms and dial in negative for the rear, its not going to help acceleration that much.

what engine mods do you have that warrants a 305 rear? just curious

** I think I need the 305 because I'm having traction problems now
** Turbonetics/Built 8:5:1/F-Con/Quaife
** The choice of the 305 size was because I can't get the R888 in a smaller size 35 profile; the R888 goes from 275 to 305; thought the 275 would not be enough; I could get a 285/30 or 295/30 nut anything smaller then a 35 profile on 18's looks horrible as some of the previous posts and pics point out.
** Was originally going to buy NT-01's but wanted a semi-slick with some ability to evacuate water; to my knowledge the R888 is the only tire that fit's the bill.
** There is a post in this thread of 305 R888 with similar offsets and they don't really stick out that far. Perhaps I'm missing something?

I would get the fronts a bit wider so that your not staggering the crap out of them.

Front 265/35/18
Rear 295/30/18

In my opinion the 305's looks ridiculous unless you have a 11.5 rear wheel. It will bulge out way to much. The 295/30 looks great on chestons Z.... he just needs to lower it some more

Unless your pushing 900hp you wont need 305's. The 295 in the R888 will be more than sufficient for anything the Z has got. These tires are nuts for the street already!

Well you have the same problem I had. I got a 19" rear wheel to fit the corrct size 295/30/19 tire. 911's have a rear bias weight distribution. That's the reason for the really wide rear tires.

I don't want to beat this thread to death, but I have a simlar question as the OP.

I have 18/9.5 and 18/10.5 (both +22) track wheels and I just ordered Toyo R888s in 275/35/18 and 295/30/18. The difference in the overall diameter front to back is about .6 inches - am I going to run into any issues with this setup? Would I be better off running 305/35/18s in the back?

You'd be better off running the 305/35/18. That's going to cause problems with VDC and look weird.

Im running stock spec Camber and was running 265/35 285/35 on my RPF1's in the 9.5 10.5 +15. My rears are rolled and pulled slightly and had 0 problem front and rear.

HOWEVER, I hated the tire (Bridgestone RE01A PP) and have since switched to a KDW2 in 255/40 295/35 (exact same diameter around) A lot beefier tire, but way less beefy than my old 275/40 rear I was running, looks great IMO.

Also my 295 KDW does not buldge out like that and I think the website claims to be 11.7" wide. It does have a slight bubble to it.

If I were running a 305/35 in the rear I would want a 275/35 MIN in the front, but ideal would be 285/35 or even a 255/40 would look better than what you propose....

Quicksilver; seeing the 305's on the car makes me a believer.
Do they rub?
What offset are those rims.

The 911 is a rear engine car. That is one reason why it has rear tires that are much wider than the front tires.
