Default Newb to Z's: looking for some help

unlike this guy...https://my350z.com/forum/2003-2008-n...ith-tires.html...i really need some help w/ what to do first to my 350Z.

I've been reading for a couple weeks now on what to do for my first mod. I've mainly been looking at a new wheel setup, 18x? staggered most likely 8.5 and 9.0. with this setup i'm looking at around $1,500.

I'm tossing up whether to just get some tires for my stockers. This would be a lot cheaper and be running around $550 for some invos.

I've never done the staggered setup before so i was wondering what to do for tires. I'm looking to see some track time between the Z and my bike this summer and don't want under steer cause i bought 225 fronts and 245 rears.

What do you guys suggest for new mods? or if you suggest to stick w/ stock wheels to get a better feel for the car on the track what tires and sizes do you suggest.

Unfortunately what can happen is that you drive a 350Z Contradiction. Examples include:

A drag racer with 100 pounds of audio-video stuff.
A autocross 350Z with 30 pound 20 inch wheels.
A daily driver with a horrendous suspension set-up.

And the list goes on and on.

Figure out where you are going. Make a plan. Work the plan.

i'd rather build something for the track.

don't really care about horrible ride quality for driving on the street.

I know what i want, but i don't know what order to do it in. I'll eventually do FI but that is far down the road. I'm just looking to have some fun at the track and get started on modding the car.

Coming from Saab 9-3 to a 350Z is completely different w/ the amount of after-market. It's really hard to choose what to do first.
