Bridgestone RE-11 Review
So the Falkens are off, and the Bridgestones are on and I couldn't be happier
Previous setup: 255/40/18 Falken RT-615's on Rays Track Wheels 18x8.5 all around
New setup: 265/40/18 Bridgestone RE-11's on Rays Track Wheels 18x8.5 all around
Suspension: Stock except for FR/RR Hotchkis Swaybars running just slightly stiffer in the front (forgot which hole)
So far I've only driven freeway as I had to drive a bit to get these tires, but from a freeway/road trip point of view, these tires are a HUGE improvement over the Falkens. Overall sound is greatly reduced and there really isn't much bumpsteer with a 265 up front.
Now I do have to mention that I did buy the Falken's used, so who knows how many heat cycles those have been through. But for me they were dissapointing on the track due to how greasy they got, autox was ok because they would slide, but I was able to control the slide in my runs (just had to turn in a bit earlier to factor it in).
Anyhow, I have huge expectations for these tires and will be testing them out at the local autox this Sunday. I usually place 4th in my street tire class, but I'm hoping this will give me an up. Just gotta get used to driving with grip again lol.
Only concern is wear, as the funky tread pattern makes me think the outsides will wear a lot more than the insides with that zig-zag shape. But only time will tell.
Pics up this weekend as it's raining for the next couple days.

They're actually 180 treadwear. And sorry I don't really drag. I'm more of a autox/HPDE kinda guy. But I don't see these having any problems hooking up (from my limited experience)

I'm running 265 RE-11s all around and really enjoy them.

The new hotness! Better pics this weekend at autox.
However, I'm starting to think I should have gone to a 35 aspect ratio instead of keeping the 40. Tonight was the first time I tried to push it a bit on the street, and I immediately noticed turn-in was slower (had to wait a bit for response) but once the tire turned it hooked up nicely. However, it still is a new tire, didn't really allow the tires to heat up at all, and it's only 47 degrees outside. So I'm hoping after upping the pressure a bit and heating them up, they'll perform to my expectations.
My reasons for keeping the 40 is because i didn't want to run a super thin tire on the street with these Michigan Potholes. Even though I am running forged wheels, didn't want any damage to them. Secondly, I didn't want to have too high rpm's and have to shift too early. I did debate on going to 265/35's at the time.
I guess I'll see this weekend.

yeah I totally understand what you're saying about the "sharp feeling" Z1.
Still though, I think you should really try out the RE-11's, especially with your skills you'll be crazy fast in street tire class. I think you have the Star Specs now right?
Also my buddy who's also very very fast in street tire is going to the Bridgestone National Street tire event in his 07 Z. I may tag along to watch you two battle it out haha. When you get a chance, check out my other thread and take a look at my latest vid. Lemme know if you see any improvements Thanks!

Great! I hope this event has a huge turnout and a lot of good drivers. I also hope the SCCA notices.

After about 1K miles (mostly highway) and 4 autocross (about 15 runs total). I still have to say these tires are awesome on the course, yet super quiet on the freeway.
I pushed it pretty hard this weekend, and these tires were on the verge of breaking loose but didn't!! At their limits they do screech a bit to let you know. With my novice skills I was within 0.01 of second from others who were running R-comps
And also the whole weekend, my friend won BS on his RE-11's (by a full second I might add) while everybody else was on R-Comps haha.
