I need some help from you guys ... I am not a fan of how low the car sits and dont really like the way the car rides either.
I got a set of Work Basaglio.
I wanna do a fat tire stance on it.

Mods:
Eibach Front and Rear Camber Kit
Hotchkis Front and Rear Sway-bars
Stance GR+ Pro True Coilovers
Fenders: Rears are rolled flat | Fronts have a slight roll on them.

Wheel Specs:
18x10 +14
18x11 +14

Current Tire Spec
225/40
245/40

What tire size/series would you recommend putting on my wheels?
I want the tires to mount fairly square front and rear!

How the car sits at its current state:

Alex, I say go with a 255/40 & 285/40 to start. Could go fatter on the rear with a 305/30.

Play with this calculator; http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp

If you want them square, you need the tire as wide - or wider - than the wheel. I suggest a 265-275/35 front with a 285-295/35 rear. Or, if you want to be cool and bold, go 285/30 on the front and 305/30 on the rear.

ok need your help before i pull the trigger

i have rpf1 f9.5 r10.5 +15 all around...i like the nice fat tire look
i already have 265/35 for the front but for the rear i see alot of you
guys going with 285/35...could i do 295/35 instead? its only a little
difference and i know i will get a little under steer with 285 and 295
...that's question number one...my car is dropped a little less then
1.5inches...so would i have to get my rear fenders rolled? (im guessing
yes) and is camber needed so the wheels wont stick out too much?

can you guys tell me the pros and cons of running nice fat tires?
besides the fact that they are expensive lol got my eye on

You'll need a roll with the 295/35 most likely. No additional camber will be necessary.

Hey guys, actively looking at throwing new wheels on and I can't decide what I want to do. I like the fat look but I don't want to limit my ability to drop in the future. I also want a square setup as I'm told it feels much more natural. So I was looking at some 18x9.5F/R +20 or 18x10F/R +20 - I'm told that the 10" will fit up front at stock height but will they fit on a mild drop (1"-2")? And as far as tire choice, I'd like to run same width F/R with a slight variation in profile to keep VDC happy (40F 45R). What tire width would you recommend/will fit? Sorry for all of the questions and thank you in advance for the help.

Youre gonna be real tall in the rear if you do a 40/45 profile. That may even mess up VDC. Many have run square with no vdc issues. If you want to go low Id suggest 275/35 on a 10 all around, with a tire that fits wide. If you stay at stock height however youll have a bit of fender gap with this set.

10 +20 all around with 275/35 front and 275/40 rear should be a great target for you.

?? You do know the rear tire is supposed to be taller than the front.

So youre saying I could roll 285/45/22 out back (theoretically) with stock front and be ok vdc-wise?

It's the larger than normal difference Im questioning, not the fact that it's taller.

It works on a percentage basis as far as I've worked out. I guess the computers look for something like a 3% difference between the speeds of the front and rear. Anything other than that is considered slipping. VDC allows something like 10% of slip as well (which is why some people don't have problems if they're running 0% difference, they still have 7% slip left before it kicks on). At least, that's how I've worked it out.

The car in my sig is so low it scrapes the ground lightly on high-G turns. It also has a 10.5" front wheel with a 285/30 tire. If you lower 2" and have a 40-series tire, where do you think you're going to stuff all that tire (height)?

We have wheel wells with a lot of room, my car is lowered 1 inch (ish) and has been lower in the past. I dont drag hard parts and if i remove my springs and do a travel check, the tire tucks into the wheel well without rubbing.

The example I used for profile was simply that - an example. I have no idea what profile I want to run and I assumed that if I went with 10" wheels, I would need to change to a lower profile tire to make up for it. I just wish there were more specifics on the whole VDC thing - I don't mind driving without it on but I would rather the car function as it should (I know, I'm weird. even if I never used the rear hatch release button, it would bother me if it were broken).

Just go with 18x10 on all 4 corners. Really you should do 11 in the back but if you only want 10 then do that on all 4.
I got 18x10 in front with 265 35 and back 11 with a 295 35. With just a roll and i am low and have no problems.
For you just do 265 and for back 285 35

What offset you thinking of?
