Default What are good normal, every day front tires???

I have 2007 Roadster with the upgraded stock wheels. Dealership tole me I need two new front tires. I do not take my car to the track or anything, just a daily driver. What are some good suggestions. Found this in another thread:

Hankook Ventus R-S2's

265/35ZR18 for $99 (normally $206!!!)

245/40-18 is the biggest possible with stock wheels

Well, what are some good ones that would fit my rims? I doubt the dealership is going to be giving me performance tires, so 175 each seems pretty pricey for just a normal tire.

Dealers love to sell tires. What do the tires look like? Quarter test? Wear bars showing?

Yea, I figured this. It was there getting something else done, and they told me I needed two new fronts. I told them just hold off. Got a family friend that owns a tire shop, so Ill take it over to him and see what he says.

How are they? What did they run you price-wise? My fronts are 245s I believe, and I have the stock, grand touring rims.

Good idea. A knowledgeable person can show you if and why you need tires.

Please check on tirerack or your local shop. I got them installed and balanced at my local shop for the same price tirerack was selling them shipped to my house. My 275/35/18 cost me 250 installed i believe. They run expensive b/c they are 'extreme performance' All season tires. Expect 20-30k miles out of them. They have a 40k mile warranty which is why I bought them.

How do tire warranties work? If they need replacing before 40k, do you pay less?

What kind of tire do you have on the car now? Best to get as close of a match to those if you don't plan on buying two of the same thing again.
