I have aftermarket wheels and tires on my 2007 Roadster and am seeing an interesting thing. There is rubbing on the outer rim of the rear driver's side tire. However, the passenger side rear tire does not have any wear.

Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing one side and not the other?

Any help would be much appreciated.

 

Left-right suspension and alignment is never perfect. It should be close but will never be perfect.

What size and offset wheels, and coupled with what size tires? Check the fender lip - see if that's where it is scuffing. Might be something as simple as a delta between tire pressures on the two sides.

 

Be careful....a tire that is rubbing can be dangerous. Mine resulted in a blowout at 100mph+....fortunately I was able to slow gradually.
