Question Tire pressure on aftermarket wheels ?

These may seem like a stupid question (well it does to me!) but what pressures should I be running on my 19" tires? Does everyone use the stock, nissan recommended pressures, no matter what wheel/tire combination they run?
On one hand, I was thinking with the lower profile I should maybe run slightly higher pressures.
Then on the other hand I'm thinking the increase in surface area of the tires (due to their increased width) would spread the load more and thus require less air pressure

Anyway....what's the correct thing to do????

Thanks in advance

Paul

It should be what is imprinted on the tire.

Definitely BAD advice! Imprinted pressure on the sidewall is MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE PRESSURE- in other words, the not to exceed cold air pressure. Normal tire pressure is somewhat below max allowable pressure. If you did not research the right pressures to go to when you switched tires, then my advice is to stick to Nissan's recommended pressure.

On my Toyo T1-Ss, I was told by Toyo to run a MINIMUM of 33 front and 35 rear cold {245/35/19 and 275/35/19].

Msosr, from the info to do with load range of tires, I would say your fronts might run at up to 36 psi and the rears are correct at 35psi.

Thanks for the info guys.......

I eventually got in touch with Toyo (I run Proxes 245/35/19 Fr & 275/35/19 Rr)
They told me to run 42psi front ant 30-35 Rear. Seems like 42 up front is a little high but they say it's to do with the difference in load rating from stock tires.
I'll let you know how it feels with these pressures.
I can't believe this hasn't been a big topic in the past.

Cheers
-P

Webrits from my information charts I would suggest 30 psi in your rear tires and 36 psi in the fronts to start with. This is base on the tire load range of the OEM tire vs. the one you are running on your car.

Good Lucki
