Similar wheel designs are nothing new. American Racing made the Torq-Thrust and then Ansen copied them, ET copied them, Appliance copied them. Here is a website showing lots of vintage wheels. Just look at the similarities in these wheels. Many people preferred the American Racing wheels but the replicas were cheaper so lots of people ran them. Ranting about replica wheels is nothing new. This topic was being discussed during the 1960's and maybe even before that.

LOL!
Anyway, I don't think that there's anything to really be upset about, unless there are safety issues such as rims cracking etc. I'm sure a lot more people will be upset then. As of right now, I can only put myself in one of those fortunate people who had the bills to drop on authentic Volks. I would be a LITTLE upset, but would end up being one of those who would sell my authentic for my replicas, and use the extra cash for mods
Anyway, hasn't "Rota Grids" been around a lot longer then Varrstoen? These are TE-37 Replicas as well.
Which one is the Rota, TE-37's and Varrstoen?
Replica companies are doing us "budget modders" a favor especially during this recession. We can still afford a nice set of wheels without breaking the bank. I've already read numerous post that basically say, "Anyone can afford authentics, just work, save and wait." Truth is, not everyone is that fortunate and we got other responsibilities to tend to as well.

Why let it bother you? I have Volk LE37t's so you don't have to tell me how much the wheels cost, doesn't bother me when i see someone with Rota's or Varrstoens. I just laugh inside when they try to tell me they are Volks, or I hear them tellings others.

replicas were made to "look alike" but it will never be the real thing, we're aware of that. if we buy them, thats on us. if you feel better about buying authentics and spending some $, by all means do. i dont understand why it bothers you so bad, you want to make a petition?
think about it man, some people provide for their families by selling replicas, everyone has to make a living. would the price for your volks be affected at retail because of replicas? If it is and the price is knocked down, then good that means more money in your pocket.
I for one will never spend that much $ on wheels, im not bashing anyone who can afford 3-4k+ wheels, ill just wait until you use em up a little and buy them off the classifieds lol

I've got TE37 s and I really don't care if knock-offs appear. I bought mine for the sub 20lbs weight per weigh, the strength (fingers crossed), and the resale value of the wheel. I bought them for me, not to show. And really, what are you gonna do, sue everyone and everything? If your answer is yes, move to CA.
