You're forgetting the manufacturing process and the quality/strength of the materials.

You're right.....one out of a million replica buyers makes it true.

Honestly, replica or not, I'm surprised people are happy with ~30lbs wheels. Spend all that cash on FI & suspension, then slap these pigs on? In 19" sizes, 5-6 lbs feels like a huge difference (vs stock)... but 10lbs? whats that equate to in HP loss? like 40-ish hp? I wouldnt think these would even handle all that well.

My car looks baller rolling on Rota's. See my computer didn't explode and it allowed me to post to the forums ... so you indeed CAN put them in the same sentence.

And the sentence holds true for my car. Love the way they look. Even 2 Volk owners on this forum think my Rota's look sweet. Not gonna call them out though for their own safety from the other Volk owners.

Volk owners like your rotas? GET THE PITCHFORKS! Look as long as your happy with your own car then honestly, who cares what a bunch of people say on the internet.

...And, they are the Torques, so follow Work Cr-Kai design, not my beloved Volk.

Unless you're G Coupe because he actually does sound like a baller, specs and pics of the car it sounds pretty badass.

doh. if the mass is toward the hub area, then thats ok. but mostlikely it'll be on the barrel, which is the largest piece of aluminum on the wheel..

so for those who want the look but can't afford the wheel, think about it this way: the money you just saved for the 'look' probably negated some of the money you put in to make the car get faster (i.e. intake, hfc, etc) because larger, heavier wheels would take more energy to spin (compared to same diameter lighter wheels)..

probably would need to compare the Varrstoen wheel w/tire vs stock wheel w/tire vs Volk w/tire to make it an even playing field.. (i.e. same tire brand on the Varrstoen and Volk)

G Coupe...sick car...but why spend 50k on all those mods to build up all that power and then put heavy wheels on to negate some of it... especially if you have the cash...what is 2k in the grand scheme of things when you've spent more than 20 times that amount already?

As my good friend once put it, if you have the money to buy an Armani suit and actually bought one, why walk around with Chuck Taylors on your feet? (although Chucks were an original design)

It's not like you couldn't have bought another wheel design from another company for cheaper than a new set of Rays...
Even if you didn't want to pay for Volks again...you have plenty of other NON-knockoff options, but lo an behold you have fake TEs on.

just looked at the pics in your album. your car is your typical Z lowered on aftermarket wheels. i saw nothing baller about it. doesnt look bad but far from baller. and yes i have to agree, i see Z's at meets sporting rotas and they look sharp but once again, not balling. who the f cares though what balling or not if you love your car F the haters!

These wheels are actually just as light as my old Volk GTC's I had on the car before...they are really not that heavy. My mechanic Steve at Corner 3 Garage was very impressed with how light these wheels are. Also my car is so dam powerful I could not tell the difference anyway. When you are pushing 550WHP its a moot point.

Like I said I really like these wheels and you cant beat em for the price. Keep in mind I have other bills, rent, another car payment, etc...I wanted to freshen up the look of my car and not spend that much money. I am more than happy with my decision, and I get compliments left and right on these wheels. Its hard to deny, but these replicas look good!

I have the TE 37's on my Z and love them. I know they are the real deal and could care less if someone else wants the same look for less money. I'm a firm believer you get what you pay for and I chose to pay for the Volk's. That doesn't mean you should or shouldn't buy the Rota's, it's your decision.

Dude so many companies out there copy and make replica's of the real deal. It's basically marketed for those that want the look, but cant be ballin' enough to drop 4 grand on just wheels. Rota makes tons and tons of almost exact replica's. Why haven't you made a thread about Rota then?

Just another Volk fanboy sad that another company made a replica of his favorite wheels. Honestly who cares? They're just wheels for christ sake. lol. No need to hate, or make it sound like replica wheels is a disease. Sorry that some of us can't drop 4 grand on wheels like some of you. Grow up.

well the rota is a close replica (on purpose I'm sure, rota does show up in motorsports, they probably dont want to step on Rays toes too much), these are copies. Rota reminds me more of a 18" TE37.. they never got that exact same look of design perfection that is a 19" TE. There's a subtle difference, enough that people didn't cry foul, just kept hammering on the Rota name.
