why would it give you a problem? the only thing you will have to worry about is fender rubbage. but theres no way 10mm of tire will throw codes

What size is on the front?

Did you check the Top 100 Questions thread, there's a post in it that explains how to determine the proper F/R stagger.

My guess is that it's going to cause problems. 285/35 is over 1½" taller than the 275/30. Assuming you already had some F/R stagger, this is going to make it even more. The recommendation is to stay between 0.25 and 1" of stagger.

If you have a proper front tires, 275/35 or 285/35 is the proper rear tire.

Tire circumference is a difference of 4.2 percent. I do not like it.

The answer is in this thread...

245/35 up front works with 275/35 out back.

By "they" do you mean 245/35 285/35? Yes, they will probably work but the OD difference is a little high (1.1"). You might have VDC kick it at odd times, it just depends on the tolerance of your car.

The preferred pairings are 245/275 or 255/285 as those keep the stagger under 1".

Thanks for the question that you could have answered about one thousand times over from one simple search. 285/35 is more correct to stock diameter than 275/30.

I'm somewhat surprised you're not already having problems with 245/35 and 275/30. With that setup your fronts are taller than your rears and that almost always causes VDC/TCS problems, especially on the older models like the 03. Accelerating into turns, highway speeds, etc. should be causing the Slip light to appear.

What if you had a 275/35/19 square setup? Would that cause any problems? I would think not since all wheels and tires are moving the same rotation at the same rate.

Normally, it doesn't cause a problem. I have used a square setup for autocross and track use for years and rarely have TCS/VDC kick in when driving to/from events. Some cars appear to be more tolerant than others with little or no stagger.
