Default slip light turns on help

hey everyone i searched this topic and couldnt find any real answers. i recently purchased a z and noticed the slip light turning on everytime i go into a corner. now im not the type that will blindly try to hang a turn going 60 mph and i dont feel rear breaking loose.

i searched and the tires sizes i have on my car currently is factory size. bridgestone potenzas 225/45/18 in the front and federal ss595 245/45/18 in the rear. both tires came with the car the day i bought it.

my question is, will getting new tires with better traction solve this problem. or is there bigger issues with my car.

I had a similar problem not too long ago but for me it was due to low air in my rear tires. How's the tread on your tires?

Welcome. The SLIP light is ON because the rear tires are slipping. The light is an indicator. Why is this a "problem" that must be solved?

Some tires may give you better traction. Some the same. Some worse.

Not at all true. As we all know, the SLIP light can come on with the wrong sized tires, faulty wheel speed sensors or problems with the steering angle sensor. The light is only an indicator that the computer THINKS the wheels are slipping, all based on expected wheel rotation rates vs actual measured rates.

Does the problem appears at all speeds when turning or just low or just high speeds?

What model do you have, ie. does it have TCS or VDC?

What happens when you depress the TCS/VDC off button? Do you still get slip lights?

Has the problem occured from day one of owning it or did it just start?

Did you have any work done to the brakes, wheels, suspension?

Can you tell if the fronts are significantly more worn than the rears or vice-versa?

Did you check the sizes of all four wheels? You'd be surprised of the simple mistakes people make when installing them.

i have a 2005 35th anniverary with VDC.

the problem has occured since i got the car.

ive only had the car for only 3 weeks so i havent touched anything on the car.

both front and rear have alot of tread left on them. i havent driven the car with the VDC off.

im gonna double check everything today, size and tire pressure and go for a drive with the VDC off and see if that will help. thanks for the replies.

The stock front tires really suck, i bet with a front tire change will solve your problem. 245/40-18 will be a nice improvement up front.
