Hey my z's wheels originaly black where professionaly painted by the last owner. I would like to return them to there other color. Is there any way I can do this without a full on powder coat job? I was thinking maybe paint thinner or something to take of the gray down to the most base color on the rim... maybe a light sand? There are areas where it seems to have rubbed off or something.

 

Would like to see wheels.

 

you should try paint thinner, then when it comes out horrible, have it professionally refinished.

 

just get a repaint or powder coat... if you want to do things wrong and cheaply, get a honda

sounds like a crappy paint job, just gte it redone

 

Is this a legitimate question? Of course, you cannot clear individual paint layers.

I would sand-blast the wheels to remove everything down to the metal, and than have the wheels painted by a professional shop. --Spike

hydrochloric acid will work much better.

 

get a custom refinish by a professional company.
