Default 08' 350z tire pressure light stays on.

I just got this 350z like 2 weeks ago and the light stays on in the dash board. It came like this from the dealer. The car is in good shape, only 60k miles and looks new still. How do I get this light turned off in my dashboard?

Congrats on your new car. As for the light, you could start by putting air in your tires.

I will try that tomorrow morning before I head to work. I will need one of those tire pressure stick things. Do gas stations usually carry these things?

You might have a low battery in one of your sensors. I believe the average battery life is about 5 years. I don't think there is any way to turn the light off.

Thanks. I guess my option is to get it fixed at the dealership then.

Sounds like a faulty sensor.

You need to drive the car a bit before the light goes out. You probably have, but just in case . . .

You should try resetting the TPMS so your car can relearn sensor locations. There is a DIY thread here on how to do it. I strongly recommend you try that first before you spending money on new sensors you dont need. And if you said you bought it from the dealer, they should be able to reset the TPMS for you.

They should fix it for free even if the sensor is bad. 30 day warranty, unless they sold it "as is"

But the dealership I bought it from is 8 hour drive. But I do have warranty and there is a Nissan dealer in my town. Should I take it there?

I would think any tire store could check your TPMS and it would probably be much cheaper than taking it to a dealer.

You should really buy a tire pressure gauge and then set your tire pressures at 35 PSI cold. Then you will at least know for sure whether you have a technical problem.
