Default F_A_T_T_E_S_T Tires on a 19" rim...????????

Has anyone ever put 295's on their rear 19" rims? I know it takes a specific setup, (offset and rim width). I would like to put the fattest tires possible on my VOLKS SF WINNING, while keep the suspension stock. This thread and its input could help others too. I have done so much tire research in the past couple of days, I think I’m going crazy with numbers… I realize in doing this type of setup I will have to roll my rear fenders, but that’s ok.

This is my setup…offsets are in mm and so are the gains compared to stock 17’s.

8.5f__+25 gains in comparison to stock +18 outside/+8 inside
10.5r_+29 gains in comparison to stock +36 outside/+28 inside

These are some tire considerations along with their dimensions. If anyone has any of these specific setups, please post, along with how you like it and if you had any trouble getting it to work.

Note: stock 17’s
Front 225/50/17__25.85 dia.
Rear 235/50/17__26.25 dia.

295’s

PZero Rosso Asimmetrico
Front 245/35/19__9.7 wide__26.0 dia.
Rear 295/30/19__11.6 wide__26.1 dia.

Continental ContiSportContact 2
Front 245/35/19__9.5 wide__25.7 dia.
Rear 295/30/19__12.2 wide__25.9 dia.

Yokohama AVS Sport
Front 245/35/19__9.7 wide__25.8 dia.
Rear 295/35/19__11.6 wide__27.1 dia.

Michelin Pilot Sport
Front 245/35/19__9.5 wide__25.8 dia.
Rear 295/35/19__11.8 wide__27.1 dia.

Or an alternative… 285’s

Continental ContiSportContact 2
Front 255/35/19__10.3 wide__26.1 dia.
Rear 285/35/19__11.1 wide__27.0 dia.

Dunlop SP Sport 9000s
Front 245/35/19__9.8 wide__25.8 dia.
Rear 285/30/19__11.1 wide__25.9 dia.

Info provided by TireRack.

Thanks to anyone who can provide real world experience with any of these setups. Suggestions or advice is always welcomed and so are any pictures.

why put 295s on the back (with 245s in the front) when the car already understeers from the factory?

unless you're putting down more than 350 rwhp, and you're goal is to build a drag car, there's no reason to do it (besides the look)

IMO...it's all about the looks

I'm also just curious to see what some others have done.

And it's not going to look like a dragster, your funny... The rears would have to be almost twice as wide. If you look closely the difference between that setup averages only 2 inches, not 6-10".

Just placed an order today with Tire Rack:

F: 265/30ZR-19 Continental ContiSportContact

R: 295/30ZR-19 Continental ContiSportContact

But I won't know much more for 4-6 weeks as the 19" rims are coming from Japan ;(

topdown,

PLEASE pm me what wheels you are going to run (widths, offsets) as well as what you paid for the Conti's... I'm looking at running 9.5/10.5 GT-C's (face 2 f/r) and that tire combo would be SICK!

can you squeeze a 255 on the fronts ... to alleviate some of that understeer?

I think so...but that is as wide as I want to go for MY specific setup. I may go 255/285 conti 2, but I'm waiting to see what others suggest

I'm running this setup right here. The 255's are actually a little narrow. I'd much rather have 265s in the front. But over all I am very happy with the combo. I was going to get the 295/30s but I chickened out at the last min, because the Conti 295s are much wider than regular 295s. With my aggressive offset I was affraid it wouldn't fit. The 285s on the other hand fit perfectly on the 10.5 wheel. If I can find a camera here (I work at a photo lab) i'll go take some quick pics for you. Give me about 30 mins or so.

Edit:
Looks like the D1 is out of the lab today and all we have is film cameras in the building. So I'll have to just wait and see if the D1 comes back.

Dr - do you have Face 2 front and rear? If so, that is the EXACT setup that I'm going to run... and I've been all strung out about what sizes to run... how do the Conti's handle? What about treadwear? I would love to see pics from all angles of how they match up with the fenders... Thanks in advance!

This has to be one of the most perfect setups I've ever seen on a Z. I think it's absolutely beautiful It has a 1" drop.

bwzabodyn, I ordered Balsarini Luftbahn S5 Monoblock SL Polished.

Front 19x9 +25/+38
Rears 19x10 +25/+38

The price I paid from Tire Rack for the Continental ContiSportContact 2's:

265/30ZR-19 $283 each
295/30ZR-19 $302 each

Front 265/30/19 - 10.4 width - 25.2 dia.
Rear 295/30/19 - 12.2 width - 25.9 dia.

So the stagger should be correct at .5"

I can't get over how long the wait for the wheels is going to be! The tires will be in Friday, but I still have 4-6 weeks to go...

I'm using the standard Face 1 front and Face 2 rear combo. The reason I went with the Face 1 front was to besure to clear some big brakes if I ever get the money to buy some.

The Conti's aren't quite as sticky as my Proxy's where, but I do like them. With my Tein springs the back end seems to be a bit more willing to come around, and that might be why it seems the Conti's aren't as sticky.

The camera still isn't back in the lab (people like to borrow it for personal use as its not actually a lab camera). But as soon as it gets here you can see the pics of my REALLY dirty car (just had a dust and thunder storm).
