Default Anyone interested in a new custom intake for the DE motor?

I am having a guy that is kind of local to me build a custom aluminum intake manifold for my '05 Z. I found out about him through a friend who knows a guy who just had him build a custom turbo kit on a Saturn Ion Redline (Formerly supercharged stock) and it turned out incredible. Check it out here:

So that is the custom manifold built for the turbo setup on the Saturn, just an example of the work he does in his shop - all built by hand.

Anyway, I'm going to have him build me something similar, but more in the Kinetix style.

Here's the Kinetix style:

I told him it would have to be polished and just as nice looking as the Kinetix, and make more horsepower.

He claims that he can make a better design by doing two main things different:

1. Internal "velocity stacks" where the runner meets the plenum
2. Less drastic transition from "neck" into "body". The plenum would have a much more gradual buildup to where it meets the throttle body.

I suggested that to him that if it would make good power others would be interested in it too. I'm probably going to end up paying around $800 for it from this guy but we're going to do a before and after dyno session also to see how it does.

Anyone interested in something like this?

So you're making an intake manifold like the kinetix?
Or an intake, like a cold air intake?

Post pics of completed project, and a before and after dyno if possible.

These should sell.

pretty simple really if he can get it to make power NA unlike the cossy plenum it will sell .
im guessing youd need a full pleunum though bot upper and lwoer to work but if it works id buy one and im sure a few other over my side of the pond would too .

The $800 is a rough idea of what it will cost me to have him build something custom from scratch.

I've got local dyno access, so we'll definitely do a before and after dyno.

looks good so far!
where is the filter going though? are you going to route a pipe to the driver's side of the engine bay? or put it somewhere else?
