Anyone interested in a new custom intake for the DE motor?
Still working on it.
After this project I have a new respect for parts manufacturing companies.
The guy doing the work easily has 30 hours in to making everything fit right. If all goes as planned (trying again...) we have a dyno appt on Friday.

Might have just hit a huge snag.....
I am updating my Accessport (which is what will be used for tuning tomorrow) and it is stuck in "Updating" mode...

FAIL
Now I cannot do anything with it! My only hope now is that a shop near where I'm getting the dyno work done can fix it or replace it...
This seems to be a common problem and I can't figure out what to do about it.

Apparently (After doing some internet research) - this is a known problem by Cobb!!
They sent me an email when I requested the race tuner software that outlined the firmware updating procedure. I followed it and downloaded the program from their website. I followed the update procedure and it froze my accessport!! Looks like this is not happening after all and I have to send the AP back to Cobb before this will happen.

This means it will likely be next year before this gets dynoed/tuned because I need the AP to do it!!!

We WERE prepared to stay up all night to get this damn thing done tonight. But with the new development with the AP it is pointless.
I have to call Cobb customer service tomorrow and see what to do....
This is how far we've got - almost done, then this AP failure... wtf.

The problem is there's snow on the ground and the dyno shop is 4 hours away.
If the weather holds off and we don't get anymore snow for a little bit there's a small chance I might still get down there. We'll see.
My AP is "married" to my car and without this AP functioning properly I won't be able to go back to the stock tune even in order to borrow someone else's. It's stuck until I get my AP back

sounds like a plan. Good luck with the Cobb unit.
