Default Oil pressure sending unit issue

Hey friends, doing an upper oil pan replacement on my z and ran into an unexpected issue while screwing in the oil pressure sensor. It will only screw in about halfway, all parts are OE Nissan also.
Here's a picture

It's not supposed to bottom out. Put some Teflon tape on it, screw it in 4-8 full turns, call it good.

I need to replace mine too as It recently went bad. I see some of the threads on her and people stating they stripped or broke the upper oil pan completely. Is that common or just from people over torquing?

You really have to be careful threading that steel 1/8" pipe thread into aluminum. Just snug it down with some sealant and it's all good.

That was the only thing that had me worried, I was not sure if there was a difference between the years in upper oil pan design, possible bad castings, or human error on the owners behalf.

I usually and not afraid of doing some of my own stuff, but seeing how easily the parts were busting/cracking (when people claimed all they did was try to loosen the stock sensor) was a bit worrisome. It doesn't help that my torque wrench recently busted either and I need to get a new one that is capable of 10lbs.

I am debating just taking it to Nissan. That way if it busts while they are taking it out it would be on them. Still a bit unsure though.

a ring or two of teflon tape and 9 ft*lbs of torque. EM-26 in the factory service manual.
