Need help with dome light
Hi guys I know this topic was brought up but the only result I found was changing Bcm.
So my question is does anyone know about 350z electrically if that the right term of what else triggers on when you hit the key to unlock was thinking of linking it to that.
So the story goes.... Last month my friend got himself a new BMW. He was telling about the new led headlights, massaging chair..... The one thing that I noticed that looked pretty cool was how the handle lighted up when you unlock the door with the key. So I started researching in the forum and I found some threads about lighting up foot area. So I thought it would be the same concept, but just hook it up to the doors. So I started on the project. After all the work was done I tested it with a 9volt and led worked great. So last thing was to hook up the lights to the dome. This were the problem occurred I was like I am just gonna tie the wires to the locations temporary to see if they worked with the controls. I saw a spark and lights went out. Btw the lights do come on in both positions when pressed manually. I think that everything
I put in a lot of time for this project would love to complete it btw I also hooked a light to the red oval reflector on the inner door panel to the right bottom which looked great
Things I have tried
Resetting the Bcm leaving doors open and taking the negative line on battery
Tried with window down too which I left for 5 min like the forum said with hitting the brake 5x. I gave it another try leaving it for a hour too
I checked all fuses one by clutch and in hood. I also the. Checked with a fuse checker with the beeping noise
I even opened the Bcm for burnt marks ( one of thread a forum members told me how he soldered burnt area with a wire together ) had no marks of what he showed on the forum of the burned area .
I would love it if someone can help with the question on the top or any input thanks
The last thing I read was about someone using wire off the Bcm but the pictures were gone and the terms he was using was like a new language for me lol. I tried sending a pm to the dude, but the post was about 3 years old so no luck there lol.

Pretty sure that's 176 people coming in here, seeing the size of the post for a dome light and going elsewhere. You might have some more luck if you had a clear, concise question.

Sorry the post is so long thought I give all the details
My question is there any other thing that triggers on when you unlock the door with the key remote
Or any other possible way to check what is broken
Causing this problem thanks again
I was hoping there was a o ring light where the keys goes but no luck there either

Hmm sorry for any mix up.
Problem
The dome light does not come on when I open the door. The light also doesn't work when I use the key to unlock the car
The light does work when I press it manually, either in the door position or off
What I have done
Checked all fuses under the hood and by clutch
Opened uped Bcm and checked for burned marks
What I want to know
Is there anything else that triggers on when the door is unlocked by the remote key
Or is there something I can try to figure out how to fix this problem or located where the problem really is
