Guys,
I posted this a while ago, but never attempted to fix it. But today, I noticed it sticks out too much.
How do I fix this. This is the cover for the gas.
I have an '04.
Thanks,
Tony

The other thing you should notice is how the cover has more of a space between it and the quarter at the top than it does at the bottom. I hadn't noticed that until I took mine to the body shop and the guys there pointed it out.
I'm beginning to suspect that they did a kinda poor job with the cap cover on this car, not sure there's anything we can do about it though.

Are you making sure that you tuck the plastic strap that connects to the gas cap under the metal tab at the bottom of the opening before you close the cover?

That's funny. Just yesterday I noticed the same thing. I was standing there getting ready to pump gas and I was thinking to myself "why is it sticking out so far".
Kinda glad to hear someone else is having the same problem.
I'll have to check the plastic strap next time I pump.

I had the same problem and here is how I fixed it.
If you look at what holds the gas cap in place, it's alittle plastic lever off the back side of the flap opening.
What happened to mine was the nut (white ring) that holds that little plastic lever (black thing that holds the gascap shut)in place was loose. If you take a small screwdriver and screw the nut back on, it will hold the black lever at the right place so that the gas cap doesn't stick out.
Hope this helps.
