Having personally seen both colors in person:
Chrome silver: Good= easy to keep clean, doesn't show scratches
Bad- TOO light (almost looks white- if only it matched the $20k orginal show-car paintjob *sigh*)
Silverstone- Good- Awesome color (has a platinum, gun-metal sleek look to it), easy to keep clean, changes shades in different lighting
Bad- Prob will show scratches easier, door handles don't match car (if that bothers you)
I weighed both options and went with silverstone. Chrome silver is too damn light. I love the SS

I do like the SS - mainly because it is a dramatic color, which goes along with the whole sports car theme, but the CS is a timeless color. It is the cleanest color for a sports car and easiest to keep that way. Certain cars have color appeal...like red on a Ferrari. But just about any exotic car looks great in silver. Porsches, Mercedes, BMW, etc...all look great, and so does the Z.
Sure, the other colors seem to make more of a statement now, but they are colors you have to live with for the life of the vehicle, and over time, as the car gets up there in years, silver just seems to be the best (and easiest) color to maintain. I would say the SS color is a close second, though.
As for worrying about what color other people are getting (high number of chrome silver owners), who cares. You're not spending $30K on a car just to have other people dictate what you should get. Get what you want.

Besides that, I wanted the Burnt Orange leather, which for some stupid reason, you can't get in a cs car, even though thats what the show car had
. After looking at them side by side though, I decided I like the ss better, I love the way the door handles and Track wheels match and are offset against the darker color.
yea... i am no longer stressing... i asked a lot of my friends what they liked better and ALL of them said silverstone... and this was without my influence
kekeke so i am now goin to be a proud owner of a silverstone enthusiast 350z 6mt!!! the the wait sucks.... can't get it till january... thats when it comes in... argh... i duncare tho... it is my car and i will wait for it ..... AHHHHHH i hate the wait
