If anyone needs help with system, lemme know. I have 3 cameras going with 30ft IR illuminators ($130-170 each). I'm using a dedicated spare p3-933/256/80gig XP machine with a Geovision GV-600 DVR card ($240-ish). I found a few places that delivered what they promised.. but it would be great of some member here had some security connections/discounts. Although I think I got about as discounted as it gets.
As long as the mobo is an intel chipset, any but the 848 and using a Geforce MX2 or higher or ATI card, youre golden with a cheap DVR.
Cables have power and vid. 25/50/75 runs, 50ft cost me about $15 each.
Actually there are tons of solutions out there, but this one runs for months at time (never actually crashed yet).

btw thats grainy because its still in 0 lux. You can see the IR lamps on the truck and fence. in the day it goes to color with 420 lines of res. I capture about about 3-4 frames per second.
And yes, unfortunately I've had to use the mpegs it saves as evidence. We know what the guy looks like and the car (with a partial plate). No word from police yet

Sorry about your car. I don't know why people have to be so hateful. It's amazing what jealously does to some losers. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if it weren't for my car being in a garage. Good luck.
