Default Driving in Manhattan is a full contact sport

I got side swiped on 10th Ave at 42nd street. The girl that hit me in her Escape jumped out, started yelling at me and called the police. Her right rear wheel ripped my left from bumper cover. When she calmed down, saw no damage to her truck she "offered" to let the insurance companies work it out. Since she had already called the police and we were a half a block from the 10th precinct house (mid-town south) I insisted on a police report. Hopefully her insurance company will pay.

We only going about 5 miles an hour, so luckily there were no injuries. Hey it's only money, I'll make more.

I used to think driving in this country was challenging... until I drove in other countries.

AWESOME outlook on the situation and I salute you for it. It takes a pretty cool guy to keep a level head in that situation!

The few times I've visited Manhattan and taken a cab, I just closed my eyes. I would definitely want a beater car for driving in that city. Of course, in Manhattan you have crazy people driving insanely at 5 mph on incredibly packed streets. But down in southern california you have crazy people driving insanely at 80+ mph on incredibly packed freeways. I just close my eyes there, too. Of course, I'm usually driving, so that just makes me another crazy person. (I think everyone else has their eyes closed, too, so it doesn't really matter.)

when i drove in manhattan in march, it was awesome. i've always wanted to do it since i visited nyc and i'm glad i did, i'll just never do it again.

everytime i was stopped cause of all those pedestrians crossing, a lot of ppl complimented my car. and swerving in and out of traffic like the cab drivers do is insanely fun! too much stress for daily life though, so my baby and i will be staying in VA

Glad your alright, thought this tread was goin to be about the massive potholes and the overly thick metal plates covering even bigger holes and how it is like an obstacle course when driving in the city... good luck with the fix
