My greatest regret is the Stillen super charger. Although the kit itself is pretty good one (easy to install), the horsepower numbers that they quote as rwhp are actually crank hp. Stillen customer service is the worst. My tech contact was a condescending a$$, who thought that anyone trying to mod the stillen super charger was an idiot. They give no insights into their engineering specs. I can see a company wanting to protect there trade secrets, but they don't have to be damn condesending about it. If you buy their kit and try to modify it further, You'll get absolutely no help from Stillen.

Just read the entire thread at work! Slow day.
Just 2 performance mods for me:

Pop Charger - Got it for $60 used. Love the more aggressive engine note.
Nismo Exhaust - sounds like the stock exhaust but on steroids. Sounds amazing when you gun it in tunnels and underneath bypasses. Wish it was a little louder at lower RPM's but on the plus side it keeps the pigs at bay.

Other than that, happy with my 35% carbon tint and Premier head unit. Bose FTL.

Let's see... I bought some cheapo branded rims, when I could have gotten Volks easily. I bought my Audio system online then had some Mexicans install it, when I wished I woulda had some respectable place install it. I'm alright with my intake right now.

I generally wished I woulda gotten the GT 350Z, but I got the base one because I was too eager to get a 350Z so I never bothered with the Grand Touring model.

**** my decisions.

Hindsight is 20/20.

XO2 exhaust. Sounds & performs ok, but looks like crap in about a month. Replaced with Skunk2....much better investment.

Bought these around 5000 miles ago and they provide alot of bite on my '04 Z but I also instead of getting a Big Brake kit went with the cheaper solution proven to improve braking. I went with the Racing brake 13" upgrade with 13" rotors and a caliber extension bracket and after 5k they still bite hard and nearly throw the one who rides in the pass seat through the windshield when the car ahead decides to brake check me!

Hawk HPS = Gread brake pads expecially for around the $50-60 you can get them at!

Atop of that Some mods I regret:

JWT Flywheel: Went to the track fir the first time since and it kills you off the line bad, with the small amount of bolt-ons i have with this doing this for the first 1/8" mile even though i trap at a higher mph its because first initial 1/8" that my time has not improved. (bolt-on's being Power Lab 3/8' spacer, MR Test pipes, Magnaflow X, Borla TD, '07 GT Rays, JWT POP Charger.
Went from 14.48 last yeah then after mods 14.39 due to traction of the tires.)

JWT Fly makes the car feel snappier but when your dirted off the line you'll soon realize its wasn't worth it!

Can't say I regret the rest of the mods cause I'm dead set on the culperate being the Flywheel for why my 1/4 mile hasn't improved!

^^^^ this is why i think that before someone goes and buys a bunch of upgrades they should learn how to handle the car as it is stock.

After reading this thread, i have learned a lot. This will save me from many regrets to come, to make a long story short. Just get FI, coil-overs, and a nice set of wheels forget every other mod. In less your aiming for show or your just power hungry . My only regret was not buying my G35 sooner, once again thanks for the thread.

Thanks, guys! No mods, therefore, no regrets. Just tinted glass, drop-in K&N
filter, & seat covers (to protect the leather from the scorching sun, down here--Condo', no shade during the hot days!!!). I love my "Zee" as is!!!

regret - Nismo Aluminum shift ****.... it actually has a great feel to it, but a rubber piece that comes with it connecting the shift **** to the shift boot melted! I guess during the summer, the shift **** gets so hot that it actually melted to rubber.

if i park my car somewhere in the sun i literally screw my **** off and put it in my center console. i cant take driving and have to feel like im grabbing a hot pan.

I regret not joining this forum before I bought my Z. I would have liked to know what I do know from it before I went out and bought my Z. Luckily I didn't encounter many probs buying my Z used.
