-Borla exhaust. Leaky, stupid design, nearly impossible to take apart and put back together with a good seal.
- My new test pipe + HKS setup. Sounds like a wasp's nest if the wasp's grew up next to a radioactive power plant and had evolved them into wasps capable of being the final boss in a resident evil game.

An X-Pipe fabrication with a larger cross-chamber will get rid of the HKS "Wasp Rasp". I had this version fabbed out of Galvanized, but now that I've seen how well it works (sound & performance wise), I'm having it redone in Stainless.

Any REVUP owners regret the MREV2 and 5/16 SPACER?
I'm planning on going turbo probably next year. Is it worth it to have for a year and then get rid of? Or not that much performance?
Are people really serious about High Flow cats being annoying? Is it 'that' annoying, or is it just people complaining a little too much about 'performance' parts. I mean, there has to be 'some' trade off. As long as its not crazy annoying and only a little raspy at some rpm's I don't mind. LOL. I drove a Honda for nearly 8 years now.

Mrev2 and 5/16 Spacer should be good for most FI applications.
Most seem to enjoy the combo.
I don't recally too many complaints of HFC being annoying. They are not nearly as 'raspy.' I think you would enjoy the HFC more than the TPs. It's not that bad. We compared two 06 Zs, HKS on both, one with TPs and one with HFC. The TP was much more agressive and louder as well as it should. The only big problem HFC member had, was the price.

great info here.. I've wanted F/I since the git-go of buying this car.. but now that I keep hearing about 5ATs not doing well with F/I.. im not sure what to think... also not sure I want the greddy anymore.. the Vortech SC seems like it would be more in my ball park.. (not looking for a monster.. just a FAST daily driver that can beat up on a decent ammount of cars
)

Regret -
B&M Short shifter - rattles, pain to shift, need to take it off but have no time.
Buying a G35 - I realized after owning it for a year that I don't care about a back seat or any of the "luxury" features. I should have just gotten something faster or gutted a Z. Plus I get ripped on for owning an athens blue pretty often.
Do Not Regret -
Pop charger - probably no HP gain but sounds great
MD 5/16th Spacer with MREV2 - holy torque gain batman.
UTR pulley
Kinetics HFCs and HKS exhaust - the top end was worth the low end sacrifice, sounds awesome.
Now have headers and the hotchkis TVS kit sitting in my garage. Need to install those and i'm hoping for no regrets heheh

i regret getting anything that didn't have to do with performance.
so because of that i regret getting a full sound system, flashy 19 inch wheels, springs (cause i eventually wanted coilovers), body kit, engine dress up. I could have taken that 10,000 dollars and used it for FI.
Because I created a show car instead of a performance car, I sold the z for a supra turbo.

Keep in mind my goal for this car is a fast daily driver that can handle the random Road Race events.
Regrets:
Biggest regret: Having Audio Adrenaline (Prescott, AZ) install my Panasonic motorized screen instead of doing it myself. Quoted me 90$ to install, then charged me 240$ after it was installed and said they couldnt get it to work and wouldn't give me my car back if I didn't pay it. I took it to a panasonic repair place and they told me the shop hooked the power to the brain up through the auxillary speaker and fried my 1000$ unit. And audio adrenaline won't pay for a new one.
-Hawk HPS pads. I race at Phoenix International Raceway. Switched to the Hawks with brand new stock rotors +recommended bedding and they had great initial bite and good performance....for 4 laps. Then they faded like crazy and sent me into the cones and around the nascar turns. Even the stock pads lasted at least 15 laps before fading.
-Not having a vortech kit by now
No Regrets:
-Making my own pop charger for 20 bucks (good sound)
-Motordyne 5/16 plenum spacer (nice sound, registers nicely on butt dyno)
-Fuzion ZRIs (great $$$ saver for the amount of tires I go through +good grip for the stock power, probably gonna have to upgrade after the vortech comes though)
-Nismo Pads (good performance overall, I can finally make it through an entire track session without fading but I'm probably going to try EBC next time around because the nismos dust just as badly as stock)
