Default 03 Console flip up lid.

Can the 03 console flip up lid be
removed and replaced
with the later padded lid?

If so, how does it pop out and in,
I can't figure it out? I have a
couple scratches on my
original 03 lid.

I did this when I
seen the scratches.

I hope we don't need to
remove the entire console.

I don't need to take mine off but I'm just curious cuz I've heard they're nicer in the newer Z's and because I'm going to be putting in my Apex'i Rev Speed Meter in that console I might mess it up, .

YES!

I have had it listed on our site for a while...

The console is not dificult to remove at all... I do not beleive you need to remove the complete console, If anything just lift the front portion of it up... Its only 4 screws...

Thanks, that helps alot. Question, whats the difference between black and charcoal? My 03 has black interior including black leather seats. I thought in 03 that this was considered charcoal leather interior. Here is the model # if this helps: GLJALSNZ33EUAB Interior "G". I don't want to order the wrong color. I once ordered one of those rings in the back hatch that the cargo net hooks on to. I ordered it in charcoal based on my explaination above and received a much lighter color nowhere near matching my interior (not from you guys BTW)

Black leather / Charcoal Cloth / Burnt Orange interiors all have the same center console.

Frost is the only interior which has its own center console color.

This console color has stayed the same between 2003-2005

The part that goes around the radio has changed for 2004-2005 in 2003 it was a lighter shade...

I am wanting to put this part on my car as well... I drove a few 2005 Z's for a while and I wondered why it was much more comfortable when just crusing (I like to rest my arm there).

Since your site doesn't have pics of everything, what about the stereo concole with the 03 slide up door for the Nav screen? I'd love to replace this piece (it holds the 3 guages on top, Nav screen cubby hole, and stereo) with an 05.

If the 05 is darker, then I'd need the piece that holds the air conditioning unit and the shifter as well.

This is the finisher that goes over the 3 center gauges, around the radio...

If you change out those... you will also want to change out the shift boot console...

I have an 2004.5 that is supposed to be padded and although it's not hard plastic, I would not exactly call it comfortable to keep an elbow on.

True, but here is what amazes me. My 03 Pathfinder SE has a real comfortable center arm rest and a rock attached to the door. My 04.5 Z has a fine arm rest on the door and an almost rock in the center. What were they thinking?

None of that matters to me anymore, I added a knee pad to my arm rest and it's comfy on both sides now. http://www.hypersprite.com/auto/tech-z-004/default.asp
