06 clutch problem
Dont worry about the noise... and if it pisses you off DO NOT put a lightweight flywheel in the car... Z's have straight cut gears and they unfortunatly make a lot of noise... deal with it and feel happy about the fact that the straight cut gears will handle any kind of beating you can think of! Look at it this way... it gives the car a race car feeling! hehe

Reverse in most manual transmissions is straight and hence whine pretty loud at speed. If our gears are straight, I wish they'd sound wicked like the BTCC race cars I remember watching on the Speed channel.
I think all consumers except a few on these boards would object to such noise levels though.

I've been driving my '06 enthusiast for a month (800 miles) and when I'm rolling up to a stop light and depress the clutch I hear a clunk? I also have some notchy shifting between 1 - 2.... all other shifts feel smooth. I've also heard what sounds like a rattling once or twice when depressing the clutch for the 1 - 2 shift. ANY ADVICE???
Definitely not happy with this and plan to take it to the dealer..... Besides that I've got to have them replace the passneger side bottom dash panel (cracked) and fix the center console (it's popped up about a 1/2 inch)....
Besides that the car gets plenty of looks and compliments; and for now hopefully the exhaust note will ease the pain of these trans noises.
