what little or big things did you find out AFTER you purchased the Z.......

Pardon the rock chips in the paint.

Well, I don't know whats different but my fender would be 'hitting' the ramp. I'll snap a pic when I get a chance. I actually found jacks to be better anyway. I can lift the car much higher off the ground which is nice when using a creeper, no way I could squeeze under there with ramps alone.

how do you turn off the horn and can you turn it bck on when you do turn it off??
so when ur walkin to ur car and its hot out, u can have the car air out for a few secs before u get in ... im guessing
When I grab 2nd gear real hard and slip the tires the traction control often engages and cuts power. Does anybody else hate that?
I wish my stability control was smart enough to override my traction control in that circumstance. .. ie if the steering wheel is straight and the throttle is at or near 100% and the yaw sensor isn't detecting any sideways motion, then I probably intended to lay down a 2nd gear scratch and it shouldn't cut power.
I guess it is probably because traction control and stability control are two different systems. If Nissan had only offered a full stability control option it probably could be smarter and have better 'sports car' tuning.
Ya ya, I know I could just turn it off, but I prefer to leave it on. I know it can provide un-human / outstanding assistance under dire situations if called upon.
Here's my list, and I know most of the following have been featured with DIY guides. But it just frustrates me.
- Driver side door panel starts falling off.
- Passanger side cup holder is nice, but seriously fragile. It's been knocked off countless times, only takes a second to stick it back in but it gets annoying after awhile.
- Being quite a conservative driver (I live in LA and commutes between Pasadena and Santa Monica, CA drivers you know it's a battlefield out there on the 10 and the 110 every morning of everyday and I can literally count the days when I can even go past 30 mph let alone meeting the speed limit), I was espeically irritated when my 3rd gear started grinding at just past 30K miles. Took it to West Covina Nissan and was told I will have to get a new transmission. 3 days later, called and told me it was my clutch the whole time and I have to spend $1000+ to get the clutch replaced. My previous 240X (R.I.P.) was running wild and free past 100K miles with no trouble at all.
- Rear axel clicked. Dealership lubed it and all that, it's fine now.
- 6 CD changer skips faster than Thumper. Eventually I just got tired of it and went to my iPod.
- Dead pedal just fell off. Dealership just pulled it out after unsuccessfully trying to install it while they were waiting to roll my car in to swap the transmission. It's been out ever since. Again, being quite a conservative driver, things like this frustrates me quite a bit, since I've always been so deliberately gentle with this car.
This is just some of the things I can think of on top of my head while at work. I've decided to take this in to get it fixed. Contacted Andy@performance who very nicely replied to me very quickly, pointing me to Tim@performance. I haven't heard from Tim yet. Anyway, I'll leave it at this.
And yes, I don't know what the VDC do either even though I know what it stands for. Not that I'll probably ever need it, but if anyone has experience driving with or without VDC and know the difference, it'd be nice to know.

That Kmart carries better head units than the stock BLOSE POS.
That Nissan cannot design a good push button mechanism for the cubbies.
That Z paint chips so easily. As a matter of fact I just got a chip typing this.
