Red face Flashing lights in the speedometer

He I was goofing off for one of my friends a couple of weeks ago on I95. Well I redlined in 2nd gear and I think (out of the corner of my eye) I saw some flashing lights coming from the speedometer area. Its been about a week since that happened and I have not had it in me to redline the car again to see if I really saw some flashing lights.

So is there some kinda warning lighting system to alert drivers when they redline?

Thanks ahead of time.

shift indicator is what it sounds like, you can adjust it with the gauge cluster, where the digital speedo is.

The gauge cluster...Oh yeah, I've been meaning to explore that (and all the buttons that go with it) sometime.

Thanks again!

You must have tripped the Ludicrous Speed Indicator. Check you owners manual.

Just so you know whatever rpm to set the shift light to it will begin blinking 500 rpms before and then stay solid once it's reached the rpm you set it to.

Not joking at all!

Its been about 5 years since I drove a stick shift and I just got this car in August. I had just forgot all about the shift light indicator in manual cars. Its actually kinda funny when you think about because its just a tad bit moronic *laugh at myself*

But the only thing I read in the owner’s manual was how to stop the alarm using the key. I guess I will read some more…sometime *lol*
