Per the spec sheet, the low beams are Xenon HID, and the high beams are halogen (on all models except base, which has all halogen).

Sorry john0213, the color from halogens and xenons will most likely vary, but they will not be on at the same time. I wonder what the cost difference would have been to go with a 4-bulb xenon setup. Must have been significant. Still, I would have liked to have had it as an option.
It's too bad the J-spec version will have a different pattern that makes them unusable here.

Bi-Xenon(xenon high and low beam)headlamps are actually becomming common in europe but outdated DOT standards make them illegal here in the USA
my guess however when your highbeams are on(the smaller refelector just below the Xenon projector) the low beam Xenons will also be on at the same time, just like in the 2002 Maxima
so yes you will have 2 different color beams when using the highbeam
A conversion kit will run you $500-$800 and can be found here
www.autolamps-online.com however it is not street legal and could give you a less useful highbeam

The Xenons will be bluish, the Halogens will be whitish. We turned the lights on at Fudrucker's, and the Halogens looked yellow by comparison.

Actually, bi-xenon systems are offered on several new vehicles in the US (BMW, Audi, Saab 9-5, etc. are examples). There is only one (1) xenon bulb per side, it provides both "low beam" and "high beam" illumination. In reality, the pattern is just adjusted (on the Saab 9-5, it's via a shutter and the leveling system). BTW - I know that Valeo is the OEM supplier for Saab, but the Phillips & Osram systems are similar. The halogen high beam units are used as flash to pass lights on the 9-5 and that's it.
HID's can look anywhere from "white" to "purple" (4700 to 6000). Halogen bulbs obviously can be yellow to blue to whatever . It will be interesting to see how Nissan/Infiniti implements their particular setup.
