Passenger window seal, noise at speed?
Searched and couldnt find any similar problems. Anyway, road tripped with the Z last weekend which included about 6 straight hours on 95 South, speed limit of 70, was doing @ 80 the whole way - its funny, saw no cops in DC/VA and no cops in SC, but in NC, must have seen a cop every 10 minutes. Anyway, sounded as if the passenger window wasnt all the way up, even though it was. Nothing visable I could see when looking at it, but it sounded as if there was a problem with the seal. Is this just one of those "things" about the car, or is it a known issue? Just wondering if anyone else out there has come across it.
As for the Z on a long ride, I had zero issues with comfort, I loved every minute of the trip. XM radio helped a bit, but the ride was great, and clocked 25.5 mpg for the ride.

I've had this problem many times, but on the drivers side, not the passenger. The dealer always just re-aligned the window, and the noise would go away for a while, but would always come back. I'd have them fix it everytime it was in the shop under warranty, but since the fix never holds, I don't bother now that I'm out of warranty. It's just kind of an annoyance.
I think part of it is the seal, they get dried out and contract, Us northern states that have to deal with the cold and hot will notice it much more than someone in FL or SoCal. They have rubber refresher that i use one a month soaks into the rubber and makes it just a lil bit more fuller and seal to cut down the noise... still noticable in winter but summer its gone.

I don't know how loud your noise was, but I think the Z has tiny little quirks that kind of "grow" on you in a loving way
and where it is better to not get picky about, otherwise frequent visits to the dealer and sloppy dealer mechanics surely will make huge problems out if it and give you a hell of a time. (Some of the "long problem-threads" I think are a combination of too picky people and sloppy mechanics who worsen the situation)
Example:
My window seals stopped working in the winter (window would not go down that half inch upon opening the door).
Well I looked at it myself and found this:
- opening/closing the door with windows completely up is just fine, fits the frame without damage, so I don't have a problem with it.
- "seals" are anyway no high tech mystery part, they are not "deeper" in anyway. So the windows don't really have to move down this half inch and back up to "seal". What I mean, the sealing rubber does not really have an upside-down "U" shape, it's more like an upside down "L" shape, so the windows going down and up I think are just an extra bit of safety fuzz.
- On the passenger side, its just cold and the window tends to get stuck. So even if the window motor moves the half inch down, the window does not fall with it. I could press it down, but probably it'll work when the summer comes.
- On the driver side I made an interesting discovery: There is sometimes a pretty long delay until the window moves down after opening the door. Well I am glad and didn't have any mechanic tear apart the door and try to "fix" it. Because I found out, it's probably not enough grease on the door switch or something similar. The car actually thinks that the door is still closed, that's why the motor does not inch down the window AND if my headlights are on, there is ALSO no warning beep that you usually get when opening the door.
So to me that is even a more minor thing. Probably the switch in the door that detects whether open or not is somehow sticking in, even though the door is open, so big deal...
The only thing I would worry about in your case is, if the windows are not totally closed (look from outside). If they are - the seal itself being no mystery part - I think the noise is either to be ignored or coming from something else.
