Default running lean

got my dyno sheet and my a/f is 14.45. Is that a danger level? what can I do to keep the numbers down? I'll be reflashing, but not right away..

That's a bit high. Ideal A/F ratio is about 13.
What mods do you have?

Hmm your setup is relatively close to mine.
I round at around 14 right now...my car ran lean from the factory,
and it's running leaner and leaner.
Just remember any exhaust upgrades will make your car leaner.
Are you planning to add headers as well? Then you'll definitely
need to reflash your ECU.

I just talked to violent racing and they say that my A/F is ok, since it's not forced induction. I'm relieved, but everyone else thinks otherwise... hmm..

i'd say your okay too. engine managment will reel you in some more power, since your leaner than ideal (13.5--> 12.5 at redline) at 14.45, your burning all the fuel

huh? what ya mean.. it's running lean cuz there's not enough fuel..
would have to get it down to gain more power though.. right now, I'm just worried about the safety of the engine, rather than the power gains.

edit: I also want to map the sucker to close to 15 at low rpm to get the maximum MPG. Hopefully withe the UTEC, I'll be able to map different fuel input at different rpms? have to talke to a tuner to see if that's safe.

I believe our ECUs will retard timing to prevent knock/pinging due to the engine running too lean (it can be from oxygen sensor or knock sensor sending the signal to the ECU). Yet, with the timing being pulled, you are producing less power...

that and not burning enough fuel will cause a power loss....ECU reflash may help if not have not had one after all the mods were installed....
