You know, one of the senior editors for Nissan Sports (who I belive has tested the new engine. He test drove the 07 G35 Sedan in the last issue.) is a very active members here. Lets ask him what he thinks.
I was referring to the new plenum fitting the previous engine for the dual intake. As for hp/tq differences, someone posted a overlapping dyno graph of a rev-up 06 and 07, top end looks to be where the gains are.
Why do I say this? This is the same engine, yet notice the vented hood, and the vents go inward, not outward. The profile of this hood matches that of the 06'.
correct me if i'm wrong but i believe the engine inside that Z is the 3.8L..?
I am starting to believe that the hood hump is not exactly made to clear the new engine ,but just as a design queue from the original Z cars. I am actually thinking that the original hood from the 06' will fit the 07'.

I was thinking the same exact thing when I saw where the actual twin intakes are routed and they didn't look that raised, nor did the engine cover.
