Default Rev light

I bought a 03 Z and the rev light come on if i dont shift before 4000 RPM's , i know i can change that but i was wondering (since i didnt go over 4000 RPM's while test driveing it) If it is set at 4000 i can still red line it if i wanted to with out anything cutting out?

Yes you can go to redline, but if you want to change it just use your button to toggle to the rpm readout on your gauge then press the other button to adjust it.

It's a shift indicator. It doesn't do anything but light up at the preset rpm so that you can quickly see when to shift. It's not a rev limiter or anything like that.

When I bought my Z it was set at 4k I changed it to 6600rpms after the break in period. But I always shift while its blinking LOL. I hardly redline by Z. I'm a woose.

Sounds to me like a question that is quicker to answer on one's own via a simple jaunt in the car than by posting online or even reading the manual for that matter.

I'm pretty sure he has tried it by now. Its common sense. It's just a light that indicates you passed a certain rpm that was preseted on the tach.

screw the rev light. As long as you shift before you bang the hell outta the rev limiter then you're good.

I hate that light... it's freaking annoying. Mine is set at 8k so I never see it.
