Question for '03ers
Ok, so I've had my 350 since January of 2003. Starting around the beginnig of 2005, I have gotten many numerous mailings from all the different dealerships I've worked with, asking to buy back my '03. Every mailing I get says specifically, "We are in need of 2003 350z's." I dont get it, why the hell are dealerships wanting 2003's back. It made me skeptical in thinking that Nissan has been having so many problems with the 03's that they are just trying to get them all back and get the owners into newer models, but I dont know. Anyone else with an '03 experience this??

It's a bunch of crap. What they are doing is going through their customer list who bought nissans and they are just trying to get you to buy a new car. The letters are sent out based on the car you currently own from them in their database.
Edit: My friend got the same letter for his 98 Maxima. It's just a marketing ploy to generate more business from existing customers. They figure you've bought one before in the past and to make it seem like there's an urgency for your old car you'll get a good trade in.

This is a common marketing tactic to get customers in the door. I own a '03 track and get these from time-to-time. Remember that most dealers make as much on the front end of a deal (the trade-in) as the back (the new car sale). Regardless of what they tell you in the promo mailing, they will lowball your trade-in and count on the customer not knowing what their car is worth!
Caveat Emptor (let the buyer beware).

lol when i had my honda the letter said that they were in need of 2003 Civic EX's, and that the offer was limited and only to a select few. Then it said that when i bring the letter in to a represenative to do it "discretely", as this special offer isnt to the general public.
lol its a bunch of BS. they just want to try to talk you in to a new car.
